Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

Excellent show! Kind of reminded me of the show “24.”. What a shame to cancel this show after only one season. Why not move it to a different day and/or time? Hopefully another network will pick it up. Ashley Judd is fantastic as an ass kicking former CIA operative!!!
I am UPSET that this show is cancelling! I love Ashley Judd and I love this show! Every series starts off bad because it is something new that they have never viewed as a series. I think there should be at least one more season now that we got to the good part going! VERY DISAPPOINTED
I am not at all surprised ABC would cancel this show in a time of shallow, stupid, humorless sitcoms and pointless, brain-dead reality shows that appeal to the kind of people who like to gawk at car accidents. The audience ABC panders to would not be capable of appreciating a series with the intensity of 24 and the acting of a first rate performer. No wonder their viewership is shrinking. Fantastic show…Ashley Judd Was amazing. They are making a big mistake in canceling it.
I really enjoyed this show-looked forward to it every week. Too bad it was cancelled. Had a good storyline & lots of action. Really makes me mad to finally get a good tv show that is like an action movie with a good plot & then gets canceled. I think it’s really stupid to cancel this show!!
Why are they canceled a great show? I love this one. They do not cancel the bad ones just the great ones. Ask the people who watch the shows. We are the ones who watch it. Read our posts if you really can read!! Put the show back on.
Missing has become my favorite show. It is well written, well acted and has a quality that many of the “popular” shows don’t have. I have no idea why people didn’t watch it. I could hardly wait for Thursday night to come around. This show was made for Ashley Judd. She made it seem as though the show and the characters are real. Like I would want to meet them. This show is great!!!!!!!!!! I do not understand why they would cancel it. This is a huge mistake. My entire family and my friends watch this show. ABC is making a mistake!!!
I think it is one of the best new shows on TV. Unfortunately I do not think that people are ready for woman as a main character action hero. The script was great! It seems like only reality tv is getting ratings… too bad.

Especially Ashley Judd . They could have gotten some new writers to improve the show the premiss was exciting and could have taken different twists.

really enjoyed show……can not believe this is being cancelled……I am not an avid fan of many shows but I truly got hooked….
This program was one of the best that ABC has picked up for midseason. Very captivating and always looked forward to watching every week. The producers say we got enough closure for those who kept tuning in every week…..I don’t think so. Missing has a great cast, great storyline, definitely action-packed and should be renewed and/or picked up by another network like so many other shows were. What kind of campaign can be done for this show’s life…..anyone have any peanuts? Missing was left where it could be picked up and continued, so please do it for your loyal viewers!!!
