Last night, NBC viewers said goodbye to the Braverman clan on the series finale of Parenthood. While the cast and crew were able to wrap up the family’s story, there is a possibility that we haven’t seen the last of the beloved family.
Executive producer Jason Katims was recently asked if he could envision revisiting Parenthood some day, possibly on a different platform. He said, “Yes, absolutely. Everyone who is doing the show — our writers, our actors, our directors, our producers — we all love doing the show. Everyone would want to do more. There is no one who is angling to get out of doing this thing.”
Katims continued, “I personally would be interested in seeing what happens a few years down the road. I want to know what happens to these people, these characters. If you asked me three years ago, I would say it’s not going to happen. But now there are so many ways of doing things that it’s possible. I would very much be open to that.”
What do you think? Would you like to see the Bravermans return in a new Parenthood project? Or, are you satisfied with the series finale?
Best show on tv. Why do all the great shows get axed? Bring it back in any way.
The best on tv!! Sad to see it go!!! Will miss!! All good things must end they say….
I pretty much agree w/everyone except “dji”. I’ll miss following the lives of the Bravermans. The ending was great except for losing Zeek. I knew it was coming but didn’t want it to actually happen. Watching every week, I wanted to BE a member of this family. NBC, good luck now that they’re gone. So please, please bring them back in some way, shape of form so you can explain all then new kids & spouses that you showed in the ending.
you can disagree with me. that’s fine. but get over it. the show is done. period. it ain’t coming back. the network gave us the last season to wrap up the story. be thankful. they usually don’t do that.
Parenthood is one of the few shows of its time that has perfectly shown the natural progression of a large family. Not once has it tried to down play the major issues that any of the characters have faced and it has realistically portrayed the message of family being stronger than any problems that we face. It will be missed. I do like the Blacklist, but liked having Thursday on NBC being the break from all the high tension .It looks like that Thursday nights on NBC becomes all about spies and covert operations. Family shows or family drama shows… Read more »
My family and I would love to see any kind of Parenthood/Braverman comeback!! Even a Christmas Special or something would be awesome!!
I agree with Carol. All the carp on TV and the cancel it. No one want to watch real TV with real life situation. Bring Bravermans.
Bring Bravermans Back…
I absolutely would love to see a reunion of any kind. I am going to miss the Bravermans every week.
With all the crap we are forced to watch today, cancelling the best of the best is so horrible.
please give us more Bravermans!
Yes. However you invision the platform, we care about the characters. The show was true to its character development and I would love to see the natural progression of what happens down the road. A 3 or 4 show mini series would be fabulous!!!!
Do it!!!
Parenthood was by far one of the best programs that TV had to offer. The family dynamics were right on target and the actors were superior. The writing for this program was phenomenal. We are truly sad that this show has ended and really do hope that it restarts again and soon. It’s important to have shows that are based upon real life happenings with problem solving and solutions. Really appreciate the fact that this show was one that never saw the need for cussing or sex scenes to make it a winner. It was a winner because the writers… Read more »
I liked the ending and it left open a reunion show (not like Peter Krause’s other series, Six Feet Under, the finale killed everybody off, one by one). Yes, would like to know what happens to these characters (btw, I mentioned Parenthood to a friend and they had no idea that it was spun off of a wonderful, funny movie. I suppose if you’re under 40 you might not know that!).
I am 50, and I didn’t know that! What movie?
Here you go, it’s a classic, great cast very funny! Steve Martin was at his best. The Buckman family morphed into the Bravermans….

i would say no. maybe in 10 years do a 2 hour movie. but no. it was a great show but it had to com to an end. and they did wrap it up nicely. maybe leave well enough alone.
Yes! Definitely bring it back if possible. We looked forward to it every week. If it wasn’t playing the same time as Scandel and played on a regular night instead of changing it around to different nights and times, then it might still be playing. I also felt like some of the characters and storylines had gotten slow. It’s like the dropped the ball on some of the characters. But, we still LOVED the show and always watched!
I would absolutely love to have this show return. There are too few family oriented shows on TV. I will never understand why the networks insist on ending all the good family shows while continuing and starting new reality shows and shows that are nothing but violence.
exactly my thoughts..
Yes I would like to see a reunion of the bravermans it was a big mistake of
NBC to cancel that all these weird shows and they couldn’t even leave a show that was
good on I am also a disappointed fan.
As much as I loved the finale, except for Zeek dying, I would love to have the show come back if not as a series, then as a reunion.
