As you may have noticed, FOX has been having a tough time establishing new dramatic TV series. Last season’s Almost Human was cancelled. Sleepy Hollow was renewed but is now struggling. How is this season’s Red Band Society performing? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Cancel or keep it?
A dramedy, Red Band Society revolves around the young patients and caretakers of the pediatric ward of the renowned Ocean Park Hospital in Los Angeles. The cast includes Octavia Spencer, Dave Annable, Griffin Gluck, Nolan Sotillo, Charlie Rowe, Astro, Zoe Levin, Ciara Bravo, Mandy Moore, and Rebecca Rittenhouse.

The show debuted in mid-September to a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.1 million viewers. It was hardly a great start for the series. The second week saw the numbers drop more than 15%. A decline of that size isn’t unusual for a second week but Red Band Society didn’t have any points to spare.
Episode three held steady but the fourth installment fell even lower, to a 0.9 in the demo and 2.92 million. Last week’s episode saw a bit of growth, registering a 1.0 rating with 3.165 million. Tonight’s pre-emption isn’t likely to help with the ratings.
Currently, Red Band Society is the network’s second-lowest dramatic series. Only Gracepoint is doing worse and it surely won’t be back for another season.
Unless the ratings keep rising, Red Band Society will surely be cancelled by spring, if not sooner. The network ordered some additional scripts today. If the scripts end up being produced, it’s likely only because they don’t have another show to fill the timeslot.
Hopefully, whenever the show comes to close, faithful viewers will be given some sort of closure to the story of the kids from Ocean Park Hospital.
But, what do you think? Do you like Red Band Society? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Cancel or keep?
best show- it’s a keeper!!!!
Best show right now- it’s a keeper!!!!!
This is a great show! Please keep it around.
Please do not cancel this excellent show! It is hard to find good television programs to watch, and this one is definitely a keeper! With a little more promotion, it would stand a fighting chance! Olivia Spencer is terrific, as is the entire cast!!!

We love this show. Please keep it on. We want this show on. We are so invested in the characters.
Please don’t cancel it! It is my way of “hanging out” with my mom while I am away at school. We both watch it, text each other throughout, and then call each other after it it over. I will be so sad to see it go!
Please don’t cancel this show! Its one of the onkynshows that I can get into and enjoy watching. I was trying to see where everything goes but if it’d canceled then we lose another great show, again.
Keep the show! It is sooooooo good.
Keep it
Great show. Don’t cancel it. One of the few quality shows on tv.
Please, please, please keep this show!!! I’m totally in love with it and can’t stand the thought that it might be cancelled. Every Wednesday it’s on, my roommate and I pull the TV down from the top of my desk to watch this show and it’s literally the only reason we have a TV on campus. Then we spend the entire week talking about it.
It takes people time to get into a show, so cancelling it so early on would make no sense.
