The show about people returning from the dead — is now dead itself. ABC has cancelled their Resurrection TV series after two seasons on the air.
On Resurrection, a small town in Missouri is turned upside down when long-dead loved ones return after 30 years. The cast includes Omar Epps, Frances Fisher, Matt Craven, Devin Kelley, Mark Hildreth, Samaire Armstrong, Sam Hazeldine, Landon Gimenez, and Kurtwood Smith.
The series debuted well but the ratings declined over the course of its first season — averaging a 2.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.32 million viewers. The network brought it back anyway and the second season debut was down by more than 40% when compared to the series debut.
By the end of the second season, Resurrection’s second year ratings average was at a 1.26 rating in the demo with 4.67 million — a season-to-season decline of 50%.
The last episode aired on January 25th and sadly didn’t offer viewers a resolution to the story.

I was just saying to my husband tonight after watching the second season premiere of American Crime, “You know a show is good when the hour ends so quickly.” Then I thought immediately of shows that are like that – leaving us wanting more… Anticipating the next espisode the moment the previous show ends! I can’t believe ABC thinks all these reality shows are better! OMG, let’s get a grip. I love this show. bring it back!!!!!!!!
Just saw another new one coming out “My Diet is Better Than Yours”. Really?! It’s pathetic. Maybe the trend toward Reality TV is because they can spend so much less on production. Sad that it seems that the bottom line is more important than quality these days.
Really upset about this. Have been waiting to watch this.Why didn’t they try another time or date to see if ratings would improve. Do not watch abc very much but that show I loved.
I have literally been waiting all season for the show to return. How disappointing. And then with a cliffhanger, even more disappointing. A really good show to be replaced with more garbage on television.
Really? Why? A great show with an amazing story line and now it’s gone, leaving us with more boring reality crap? So we are all left hanging and that’s okay with the network? Bye bye ABC. You blew it.

I can’t believe this show was cancelled!! It was a really good show. What is wrong with you people?? You get a show that is gripping and unique and you cancel it! Go back to your silly little reality shows and I’ll just keep turning you off.

What the Heck! I’ve been googling all day to see when it’s coming back on and now i find out that it’s cancelled… COME-ON people. It is a GREAT story line, suspense, drama, love, family, everything! BRING IT BACK please!
This was my favorite show on tv! I hoped the week would fly by until the next show. Now I’ve been waiting for ever for it to come back on and found out it was cancelled? Oh I’m not happy at all!
We watch very little TV but this was one show we always watched. Very disappointed it won’t return especially when we were left hanging.
Hubby and I looked forward to it every Sunday night. It was a good show! We were wondering if and when it was coming back. oh well another one bites the dust.
Well that s ABC for you. They always cancel the good shows. Some of us still actually like to watch good TV and not all this reality BS…..like cancelling AMC after 40 years on air and replacing it with a cooking show. ABC sucks anymore and I don’t watch anymore, haven’t for years with the exception of DVRing Resurrection .
