Tonight marks the last episode of Ringer’s first season — and likely of the TV series as well. Despite being The CW’s most anticipated new TV show of 2011-12, the series hasn’t been able to hold onto its audience.
Ringer revolves around a former exotic dancer named Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who, after being the sole witness to a professional hit, reunites with her wealthy estranged twin, Siobhan. When Siobhan disappears, Bridget assumes her identity and discovers that her sister’s complicated life rivals her own. The show also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Mike Colter, Ioan Gruffudd, Zoey Deutch, Tara Summers, and Kristoffer Polaha).
The series debuted to strong numbers (by CW standards anyway) with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million total viewers. That was pretty close to being on par with the smallest network’s most popular show, The Vampire Diaries.

Unfortunately, the second episode of Ringer lost 25% in the demo and by the fourth installment, the series lost another 33%. Not good. It didn’t help that the network put the struggling series on hiatus for two months.
The ratings have fluctuated somewhat over the course of the season but have been trending downward overall. The most recent episodes of Ringer have been bringing in a 0.4 demo rating and just over a million total viewers. Even by The CW’s standards, those are very bad numbers.
While The CW gets revenue from other areas besides broadcast advertising — big deals from Netflix and Hulu, for example — the network still has to make choices about what to cancel and what to renew. If viewership of Ringer had been on the rise, it would have a chance at being renewed. As it stands now, it looks certain that tonight’s episode will be the last one.
But what do you think? Is it time for Ringer to be cancelled or should there be a second season?

I have grown to love this show! It wasn’t that great at first but it has gotten so much better! It is now my favorite show and I would really love at least one or two more episodes to tie everything together.
I cant even believe there is talk of this, i came online to see what kind of awesome reviews it would have after that season finale because it was soo awesome! And then I see news of cancellation buzz!? Like what!? This show is so awesome and different than other shows, ive become totally addicted. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL RINGER! This is a GREAT show! I want to see the real Siobhan get it! Give it a chance on a second season! Viewership WILL grow- Please renew for season 2!!!
Ringer is a very good series. It suffers from GW mangement incompetence; changing time slots, no reruns to catch up on missed episodes, long breaks with no showings, and poor announcments of new episodes. Even the season finale left you hanging with no knowledge of what will happen next – pure network deception and dishonesty. If this show is canceled without reasonable concluding episodes, I will never watch GW again and warn friends to avoid programs on that piss-poor GW network.
I would be so upset and devasted if this show is cancelled. I absolutely love Sarah Michelle Geller and love her roll and Bridget/Siophan. The whole show leaves me in suspence every week. I really hope that it comes back!!!
Ringer is a great show! Each episode has been better than than the previous week’s episode. I can’t wait until next season to see the face off between Bridget & Siobhan. I want to see Andrew & Bridget reunited and what about the twins?

RINGER better not be cancelled! Besides Supernatural its the only great show on the CW that i watch. There are many great twists that are not expected. We want to see what is going to happen between Bridget and Siobhan! It’s not fair if it gets cancelled at this point. I also love the cast. This show could not be better in my eyes. Anyone I know who has watched it has been hooked instantly and I’ve been hooked from the start. Too many great shows are cancelled before given an actual chance. Renew it!

Whole-heartedly agree with every word (even the bit about “Supernatural”). Please, CW, give “Ringer” at least one more season!

The show show is wonderful, Sarah Michelle Geller and the cast is brilliant, please dont ax the show. I and my familywatch many shows on this network and am a faithful fan of both the network and Ringer, please give it a chance ?
