What’s This TV Show About?
An NBC high school drama from Jason Katims and Jeffrey Seller, Rise stars Josh Radnor, Rosie Perez, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey W. Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumierk. The series centers on Lou Mazzuchelli (Radnor), who is the fictional analogue to Lou Volpe in the Michael Sokolov book, Drama High. Although he is committed to his students at Stanton High School, Lou knows he needs to shake things up, in order to rekindle his passion for teaching. To that end, he petitions to direct the school’s theater program, but soon realizes he signed up for a whole lot more than he originally expected. Soon though, the faculty, student body, and even the town residents find themselves caught up in the new spirit at the school.

Will NBC cancel or renew Rise for season two? The ratings have been pretty poor so a renewal seems like a longshot. Please consider a second season
I’m shocked and disappointed. I think that this show didn’t get enough visibility, so people didn’t know about it. But it was a great show, talented acting, good story lines, and the music was great! I hope they reconsider or someone else opts to pick this show up.
Please bring this show back, such amazing story lines…..brought me to tears…..please do not cancel
whyy!!????? that was amazing show i loved it !! it was so emotional , important and gives hope to teenagers like me who lives in a country with poor theatre experiences !! i’m disappointed!!
Why would they cancel? It is a show like no other on tv right now. It’s a great show with great actors. Keep it on!
This show was unbelievable. A show that can be watched as a family. These are the kind of shows that need to continue instead of shows loaded with killings.
Please keep this show. It is really good. I need to see another season. This show portrays real life moments for teenagers and I love the relationship with the main characters. They love each other and I want to see how it ends. 🙂 This is one of my favorite shows and I will be heart broken if it ends. RENEW RISE ON NBC!!!!!!
I hope there is another season ! The acting betweeen the cast is outstanding and worthy of another season … plus an award ! Enormously absorbing from the first show to the last ! PLEASE RENEW RISE ON NBC !!
Rise is an amazing show for many reasons and I am praying there will be a season 2 some day. It touches on every major topic facing teens, schools, and families. RISE does an excellent job portraying real-life challenges while conveying family values. My family and friends look forward to this show and character development each week and we are so saddened that season 2 has been cancelled.
Please don’t cancel Rise I really enjoyed this series.
I cannot believe that they cancelled one of the best shows on NBC Rise. Why? Was it too risqué for some? Did it not receive enough audience support? This show open a dialogue with my teenage children about parenting, death, abortion, same sex relationships, adoption, the list goes on. We are currently living in a society where these topics are part of the culture. If Law and order SVU which cover topics that are so much more intense continues why not Rise. I thought this show wa excellent and I would hope that NBC will bring Rise back for a second season. Excellent music and great acting !
I do not want this amazing quality show to go away. Rise has everything I want and more. Do not take good shows off . It deserves to have another season. I just found it and now you are taking it away. ??What are you thinking!!
Really? Horrible shows like Last Man Standing can be resurrected, but an entertaining program with heart and talent like Rise is axed after one season? Huge mistake and I protest. Where is the petition to save this show? I’ll sign in a heartbeat.
This show is one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I love how it took serious issues and treated them accordingly, not having them seem lighter than they are and not having them be resolved in just one episode and then forgotten. I’ve seen many people complain about how serious it is, and yeah commedies are great but this show wasnt a comedy nor should it have been.
