While The Conners TV show has not been cancelled or renewed for season two, ABC has shown it has some faith in the Roseanne spin-off (a show no one thought would exist, this time last year). The network has ordered an additional episode for the first season, bringing the total count to 11. The accidental sequel, which was only ordered after the network cancelled Roseanne in wake of Roseanne Barr’s ‘repugnant’ social media posts, has done quite well in the ratings thus far, but it has a limited episode count, because of the principal cast’s limited availability.
An ABC sitcom, The Conners stars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey, and Maya Lynne Robinson. Guest stars in season one include Estelle Parsons, James Pickens Jr., Natalie West, Johnny Galecki, and Juliette Lewis. The sitcom follows the working-class family of Roseanne and Dan Conner (Goodman) including their three children Becky (Goranson), Darlene (Gilbert), and D.J. (Fishman), as well as Roseanne’s sister, Jackie Harris (Metcalf). No matter what challenges the family meets in Lanford, Illinois (even without matriarch Roseanne), the Conners endure — thanks to their persistence, humor, and most of all, love.
The Conners: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of The Conners is averaging a 2.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.28 million viewers. It is currently the network’s top-rated scripted TV show, beating out the other ABC TV shows in that category, by a mile.
With ratings like that, the network is sure to want a second season, provided they can get the cast and crew on board and make everything else work out, behind the scenes.
Like its predecessor, Roseanne, The Conners was intended for a short run because of its cast members’ other commitments. Roseanne had been renewed for a 13-episode second season. The Conners was originally picked up for 10 episodes in the wake of Roseanne’s abrupt cancellation.

It’s all over the place, the acting seem forced. It will run at best for three seasons and done.
Roseanne should have never been cancelled. We are adults and can make our own decision as to what shows we will watch regardless of what their stars tweet. What happened to free speech in our society?
I enjoyed the first 3 episodes of The Conners. I rarely watch TV, it’s a waste of life, and never particularly cared for Roseanne, BUT I like these characters, the script, and the sarcasm The cast does a good job and the cameos have been fun. I’ll continue to watch it online.

The rest of the cast are wonderful.
Personally I feel The Connors is just as good if not better!

The show was great when it referred to President Trump (Fox News is Factual). He is the best President we’ve had in a long time. Let’s hope he gets a second term for our country to continue its “greatness” comeback.
I like the spin off. It’s not the same without Roseanne but with good acting and good writing , it could be a big hit. Give it a chance

I quit watching after the first episode it’s not the same I miss Roseanne I hope this show tanks needs to be cancelled it’s over when Roseanne got booted by ABC to make an example out of her boo hiss on this show

I enjoyed the new version of the show. In fact, I think I enjoyed it more without Roseanne’s uncomfortably annoying voice and thinly veiled bigotry. Yes, this was part of her “charm” in the past, but increased political correctness in the meantime has made the squirm factor in this sort of comedy a bit harder to enjoy. I will be happy to see this show renewed. It’s a great cast and I think they can carry it off just fine as long as the quality of the writing is there.
