Another TV show won’t be coming back. A&E has cancelled The Returned after one season of 10 episodes.
On The Returned, the residents of a small town have their lives turned upside down when some of their loved ones appear to return from the dead. The cast includes Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, Jeremy Sisto, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mat Vairo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kevin Alejandro, Sandrine Holt, Dylan Kingwell, Aaron Douglas, Rhys Ward, Leah Gibson, Agnes Bruckner, and Michelle Forbes.
The series debuted with disappointing ratings on March 9th, garnering a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.54 million viewers. The numbers got much worse as the season progressed and the 10 episodes ended up averaging a 0.38 demo rating with 1.05 million viewers.
To no surprise, the cable channel has decided not to order any additional episodes. The defacto series finale of The Returned aired on May 11th.

I cannot believe that cancelled one of the best shows! Bring back The Returned! I’m very disappointed and saddened by this news!
I like the American actors also and miss the show. A&E was not on my radar for watching until I saw The Returned. They did not do enough ads for the show. I came across it by accident.

I believe the original French version will be on Sundance sometime soon.

Just finished watching the last episode of The Returned. A riveting series; disappointed that season two has been cancelled. It required a couple of episodes before I could suspend my disbelief and let the story flow.
I have a close friend whose TV is only used to watch DVDS as it is not hooked up to anything and she listen to CD’s in the car as she does not own a radio. She lives a serene life in Vermont saying she knows she misses the good as well as the bad. But she keeps busy with her daughter and grandson on Cape Cod too. As for me, thank the Lord for PBS.

I can’t believe it was cancelled, the possibilities were endless and they left so many questions unanswered. I hope they rethink the cancellation and give us a season two and tie up the loose ends.
Please return The Returned for season 2.
This sucks! I really liked this show! Can A&E at least finish the series before they just cancle it! It is just left opened. Did the town flood? Does Rowan have the baby? Will Victor return? What happened to Camille’s boyfriend? There is so much more going on for many great episodes.
