The CW is starting over on Monday nights. They’ve cancelled both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People after one season apiece.
On The Tomorrow People, a teenager (Robbie Amell) discovers that he has paranormal abilities. He also learns that others like him have gone into hiding because they’re being hunted by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.
The drama debuted back in October and aired on Wednesday nights, paired with the network’s popular Arrow series. It performed well in the beginning but the ratings fell over the course of the season, dropping as low as a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.24 million viewers.
The series moved to Monday nights and lost even more viewers. In last April, The Tomorrow People hit a series low, drawing just 760,000 viewers.
The season (now series) finale, which aired this week, left plenty of story opportunities for a second season but it won’t be happening.

This was such a fun series and I’m super sad you canceled it.

I have to agree with everyone else on here as well. I absolutely LOVED The Tomorrow People and I am outraged and pissed that a show as great as that got cancelled. Little word of advice, maybe if you hadn’t aired it on Monday nights because those are filled mainly with sporting events or Monday night Raw for wrestling. Why not air it on a weekend, like Saturday? That would be the perfect day, because most people stay inside and watch t.v. on a saturday evening. I loved this show and was excited for the next season. But now really disappointed that there will not be a new season. :,(
Just finished watching season 1. the finale tells me the story has not ended. I’m very disappointed to know the story is not going to be continued.
I loved season 1 but got disappointed when i found there won’t be season 2.
Why is it that the best shows get cancelled? Whoever schedules programming for CW is an idiot. Did it ever occur to you to advertise it more intelligently? Having it on Netflix COULD give it more life in the second season. That’s where I watched it and would now tune into a second season. Some moron in scheduling jumped the gun. We can only hope that one of the other networks buys it…and continues it.
How can you cancel this show?! This is the best thing on netflix, ever. I mean, CW left The Tomorrow People as a cliffhanger, so they owe it to us to at least put one more season up, right?
I just finished watching season one on netflix and could not wait to see season too. I hate to see that it was canceled. Their are several series i started to watch and were cut. I think I will wait from now on to see if a series last for awhile before pulled into them and then disappointed because they were canceled.
PLEASE do a season 2. You CANT leave a story hanging like that. Its my favorite show 🙁
One of the best shows on the CW of course they would cancel it.They stuck it with star crossed a lame show.No wonder it got bad ratings after they did that.Someone at the CW wanted it to fail,that why that moved it. They should bring it back at mid season for another try.
Just discovered The Tomorrow People on Netflix. Love this show and I’m disappointed.
