It looks like CBS hasn’t completely given up on Training Day. Recently, the network released episode descriptions for the series’ upcoming return in April.
Earlier this month, CBS pulled the freshman drama from its Thursday night lineup. A few weeks previous, the show’s star Bill Paxton passed away unexpectedly. The cast also includes Justin Cornwell, Katrina Law, Drew Van Acker, Lex Scott Davis, Julie Benz, Christina Vidal, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
While CBS has not officially announced Training Day will be cancelled, it seems highly likely. The show’s first season hasn’t received good ratings. So far, the season is averaging a .75 rating in the 18-49 demo and 4.162 million viewers.
Training Day returns to CBS on April 8th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Here are descriptions for the next two episodes:

What do you think? Are you watching Training Day? Do you think CBS should still renew the series even without Paxton?
The show will not be the same without Bill Paxton. But, on the other hand I do like the show and it would be interesting to see how they do it. Please give it a try and make it happen!!
Great show sad to see it may be canceled I am sure you can write something to keep it going in honor of a great actor…RIP Bill Paxton
I love this show. Please please renew it
My family loves this show. Although Bill Paxton will me missed I believe the story line can be wrote around his character and come back even stronger next season.
The show started off a little slow but by the middle of the second episode it had really taken off. Its a terrific show, great writing as well as actors. RIP Bill, another great person taken way too soon.
This is a great series and we are so sad with the loss of Mr. Paxton. Will continue to watch when available and hope they can keep series alive in future.
It was a sad day when Bill Paxton passed away. He will be missed. I have enjoyed his work through the years and was enjoying Training Day. I told others about how good it was so they would watch it too. I would like to see it play through and maybe the writers can do what they do best and have him killed on the show and someone else can take charge of his work on the force. That is just an idea which there are several ways his death could play out for the show. The other actors are… Read more »
Met Bill a couple of times in my younger years and he was great down to earth not given enought credit actor. I have watched every episode and am looking forward to the one with his son. The supporting actors that play the detectives are good as well. If given a chance I think this show could make it but CBS never publized it much. How bout bring his one in a recurring role. Glad Bill had a great program on TV before he passed. I would say give it another chance next season , Kyle is a good character… Read more »
I agree except I love 2 Broke Girls. We have not missed an episode of T. Day. CBS along w other stations gives up to quickly on shows now adays. This is an amazing series I hope CBS takes another look and keeps it on for next year. Also..CBS keep your comedies on..do not watch reality TV–Monday I need CBS–I hate the bachelor!!
We were very sorry for Bill’s passing. He was a very important element in this show, but there are a lot of good actors out there and I am sure there were others that the network had considered for this role. RIP Bill, but I do not want you to cancel this show. There are so very few that my husband and I like and they keep getting canceled!!!!
Please don’t cancel Training Day!! It’s one of few shows I really like to watch. My husband also really likes it too. We have turned on 5 family to the show and my son who’s time for TV in limited to job, this is one the three shows a week.
Yes, I watch Training Day, loved Bill Paxton who left us too soon! I hope the show continues, maybe the plot could add a son, brother, who will revenge Bill’s character being killed.
I liked Bill Paxton, but not this show.
Yes, I want to see the last 2 shows. I loved Bill Paxton. Would not be the same without him. Will miss him.
Yes I watch Training Day and no I don’t think the show should return without Bill Paxton unless they team Kyle up with the other two detectives.
Yes I am watching it. I like the plot and I am very sad about Bill Paxton. Hoping you renewed the show someway. Thank you
