It was a huge start for NBC’s The Voice. The new reality show was second in total viewers (behind Dancing with the Stars) at 9pm but won in the 10pm hour. Both hours however easily dominated the coveted 18-49 demographic. This was the biggest premiere of a new series since CBS’ Undercover Boss which followed the Super Bowl back in February 2010. NBC sorely needs a hit and, to make sure that everyone sees it, NBC is rerunning The Voice’s first episode tonight.
The special 90-minute episode of Glee fell to a new series low but the show’s ratings are still quite healthy.
