Episode 09-02: Monday, 9/26/11
Another stellar ratings night for CBS and this venerable sitcom, which attracted a 7.4 in the demo and 20.52 million viewers. Kutcher and Cryer and company were down by 31% in the demo episode-to-episode but that’s still an incredible performance.
Season average: 9.1 in the demo and 24.63 million.
Episode 09-01: Monday, 9/19/11
There was a very high amount of anticipation surrounding the sitcom’s return and CBS was surely not disappointed by the ratings. Ashton Kutcher’s first episode attracted a whopping 10.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 28.74 million viewers. This was easily the show’s biggest performance to date and the event benefited the network’s entire Monday line-up. We don’t know how the new version of Men will compare to the old but it certainly got a good sampling.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 4.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 14.22 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Two and a Half Men TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a 10th season?

I didn’t like Aston K. before, now I really don’t like him. Everyone knows a “Charlie”, nobody knows a “Walden”. Walden? really? …
LoL, Rose holding Charlie captive in a dungeon… Great idea… I am growing tired of the show myself, some of it is funny but getting annoyed as some of the jokes also.. Would have been better for Alan to have moved back into his ex wifes house and her husband, would have enjoyed seeing more of them then Ashton… I do like Ashton but the writers seem to just enjoy having Ashton run around stupid and naked..
Rose killed Charlie? No body…a bag of meat? Really? Anybody think they couldn’t bring back Charlie? Would anyone be shocked if Rose was holding Charlie hostage in an old fashioned British castle dungeon? Yeahhhh I know its just a tv show but, would this scenario fit the characters?
Seriously…reconcile AK with his wife…have Charlie escape & give the show an appropriate ending.
I have watched this show loyally but my god is this season awful. If this was a new show it would be close to cancelled. I hope they retire it or cleverly reinstate Charlie Sheen.
Of course it shouldn’t be cancelled the show is awesome i hope it gets a Season 10.
28+ million watched the first episode out of curiosity, but the number will go down drastically each week. I watched the first two and am done. I don’t like Ashton Kutcher or his role at all, Alan is great but can’t do it alone, and Jake has gotten too old for the part. Without Charlie Sheen the program is dead. Lousy ending. Either bring Charlie back or cancel the show.
I will not compare “Charlie to Walden” because there is no comparison… That being said, with an open mind I can honestly say that AK is not the one for the show. Why on earth would Loren & company make him so dimwitted??? The days of stupid are ovvveeerrr! Oh wait I may be wrong with the “new” generation, maybe your right on track. I think Alan, Berta, and Jake can carry the show on their own, more of them, less of AK… How about “One and a half men and a whole women!” Or better yet, we want Charlie,… Read more »
Can’t get into it. Don’t like it – I watched the first episode – did not like how they acted during the funeral. Cancel it…
I THINK IT SUCKS SAME SCRIPT DIFFERENT GUY THAT IS NOT CHARLIE COME ON COULDNT GET NEW IDEAS FOR THE SHOW BRING BACK CHARLIE OR HAVE A FUNERAL FOR THE SHOW ITS SELF REST IN PEACE TWO AND A HALF MEN BECAUSE IT SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely not the same without Charlie Waffles …
Not the same without Charlie
Very disappointed, no comparison to the original, bring back Charlie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the show. Think it is better than ever. Kutcher is a Rock Star and Sheen is a Has Been. Just my Two Cents.
The 2.5men storyline sucks!! It was painful to watch 9.1+2… kinda like watching somebody repeatedly driving over your beloved pet rabbit… In a way the behavior of the producer’s of TAAHM is far more unprofessional than Charlie’s outbursts earlier this year. They’re trying to insult Sheen by making all the characters hate Charlie Harper who is the soul and heart of 8 years of telling the story of 2.5 men. Doing that is childish & disrespectful to the fans (who are the life-blood of this series)!! Very sad… rather pathetic… what a shame… The 2.5men house is cold & empty… Read more »
Ashton could never fill Charlie’s shoes. First of all, he is not the least bit funny, & Certainly does not deserve that ridiculous paycheck. His trailer is another joke. Can’t believe the producers are giving so much to someone with no talent. I could care less about his marriage, just bring Charlie back or call the show 1 & 1/2 men. The cast could carry the show, because they are all funnier than Ashton..I am sure the ratings will go down every week he is on, & when it affects the the producer’s wallets, maybe then they will realize the… Read more »
Charlie Sheen played himself and the writers made him funny. Ashton Kutcher is playing himself but I don’t find him believable in his role. A dumb, immature, jackass punker is funny once. Why ruin a great premise with guy less bright than Jake? Alan is the top banana and the charm of the show. Charlie always had an edge about him, he was a bad boy but we loved him. Walden is a one trick pony.
You would have to have the IQ of a fern to like the new version of 2.5 men!!!! What a let down – turned it off after the first 10 minutes.
yet you bother to post how much you hate it :p it’s just a tv show dude, deal with it
Hey Bla, at the end of the article it asks “What do you think?” I would imagine that is why he posted what he thought. duh!!
BTW the show does suck now. Cancel it!!!
