Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

ABC you ******* suck
That has to be the worst decision ever to cancel the show I watched two series in two days. When watching it it makes you feel apart of the programme, I sat up long hours watching it because it has a huge impact on who has watched it! I’m very angry they have left it the way they have on the last episode as that is just a horrible thing todo! There was obviously a third series planned out and once again abc has to cancel something! You have to make a third series or at least a few more… Read more »
Most disappointing, after intently watching Series 1, and purchasing Series 2 on DVD – another weak and rather odd decision by the ABC considering the work already undertaken and the massive budget they tap into.
I was so annoyed that they cancelled the show i gave away the two seasons i had,no point collecting something that has been cancelled,as for bringing it back, they wont do that, they have never done it before, and they have scraped some great sci -fi shows,Dark Angel, and The Sarah Conner Chronicles to name just 2,there are many sci-fi fans out there, yet when they bring out something we all like, they throw it on the scrap heap after a couple of seasons!!
This was a great show. I loved to hate Anna’s character. I’m so disappointed the show was canceled. I mean I paid $24 dollars to watch the 1st season on Amazon and $19.99 to watch the 2nd season. If ABC would given the show more time I know it would have gotten the ratings.
IMO, had they made the series available via the web the ratings would have gone up. I know a lot of people (including myself) were quite angry when ABC didn’t make it available online. I stopped watching the series when they took out the online content; it was just to inconvenient to watch during the regularly aired time.
Dumb move ABC.
Im very sad there isn’t gonna be an 3 or even 4 season of v. Don’t know why this show didn’t get many ratings but the writers and producers were absolutely wonderful. Gonna miss this show.
I have all of the original V, series on dvd and I just love it and I have the new ” v ” on dvd and its just GREAT they should still make the Sci-Fi TV Series “V”.thankyou so much for the show..
they didnt like what the show was portraying and the audience liked it alot
Yeah I loved this show it was epic and I don’t watch many this was the one j actually enjoyed. Cmon bring a third season finish the story resolve the cliffhangers. What happened to all the humans at the end. I guess theyd all return to normal cuz Lisa said there are no lasting effects.
Please bring the show back!!!!!
look what happened with Star Trek the original series that got cancelled early please reconsider and make a 3rd and 4th etc!!
wish they had done a 3rd to finish it off really enjoyed both seasons want more!!!
I think this type if show is goid for a specific audience. I happened to be one if thise specific. I think scifi network should try and pick thus show up including the wrurers season three would if been epic.
I will never watch another sci-fi show abc put out there just to have them cancel it without giving it an ending maybe this is why abc doesn’t get the ratings they hope for i am done with any sci-fi shows abc puts out there
