Californication: Season Six Ratings

Californication TV show ratingsShowtime’s Californication has returned for a sixth season on the cable channel. Will the series’ ratings rise and be renewed for a seventh year or will the show be cancelled instead? We’ll have to wait and see.

Californication airs on Sunday nights once again and there are 12 episodes. The show stars David Duchovny, Natascha McElhone, Pamela Adlon, Madeleine Martin, and Evan Handler.

Below are the most recent ratings for the sixth season of Californication on Showtime. The TV show’s ratings are the best way to tell if a series will be cancelled or renewed for another season.

0.2 demo rating (0% change) with 0.58 million (-2% change).
Season averages: 0.32 in the demo with 0.74 million.

0.2 demo rating (-33% change) with 0.59 million (-30% change).
Season averages: 0.33 in the demo with 0.75 million.

0.3 demo rating (0% change) with 0.77 million (+10% change).

Season average: 0.60 in the demo with 1.07 million.

It was a positive opening for Californication. Year-to-year, the premiere was up by 50% in the demo (vs a 0.4 rating) and up by 29% in viewership (vs 0.76 million).


Reference point: The fifth season of Californication averaged a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 0.72 million viewers.

Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.

They already renewed it. Do some research.

The post was started at the start of the season and is updated after each week’s ratings. If you look, you’ll see that the renewal is noted between the third and fourth episodes.

The ONLY reason I subscribe to Showtime is for Californication. If this series is cancelled, so will my subscription to Showtime. Feel me? Just saying…
