Last Comic Standing: NBC Series Renewed for Ninth Season

Last Comic Standing TV show on NBC: renewed for season 9NBC has cancelled Last Comic Standing twice in the past but have ended up reviving it each time. The series is performing pretty well for the peacock network this summer so they’ve renewed it for another season.

Airing on Thursday nights, Last Comic Standing is currently averaging a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.02 million viewers. It’s the network’s fourth-highest rated series this summer. The judges are Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Russell Peters.

The network also renewed America’s Got Talent and American Ninja Warrior.

What do you think? Have you been watching the latest iteration of Last Comic Standing? Should NBC make any changes for next year?

I really enjoy this show! To be blunt, I would change the presenter / host. JB Smoove comes across as phony as his name. Between his speech impediment and shouting everytime he speaks, I want to change the channel each time I see him!

The judges are good, especially Roseanne.

I agree there were some NOT SO GREAT performances maybe the ones that BOMBED could be narrowed down but it is a contest so it is a process

It’s performing well because it has an excellent format. Now all they have to do is get rid of those skits that bombed for me.
Keep the existing format, get rid of the skits and it’ll be okay.
