8pm – The Big Bang Theory: 6.0 in the demo (+11% change) with 18.98 million.
8:30pm – Two and a Half Men: 4.6 in the demo (+12% change) with 15.39 million.
9pm – Person of Interest: 3.4 in the demo (+17% change) with 16.14 million.
10pm – Elementary: 2.5 in the demo (+9% change) with 11.36 million.

The CW:
8pm – The Vampire Diaries: (rerun) 0.4 in the demo with 1.12 million.
9pm – Beauty and the Beast: (rerun) 0.3 in the demo with 0.87 million.

Clearly it was a great idea to air a new episode of The Big Bang Theory before the other major shows returned. It ensured great numbers for the show, numbers that I think were well deserved. The Big Bang Theory is hilarious, and I (along with 19 million other people) watch it every week.
