NBC has had mixed luck with their ratings this season. They’ve had some successes and some failures. How does the Believe TV series measure up? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season two?
Believe revolves around a young girl with special abilities and the adults who are trying to protect her from evl forces. The cast includes Johnny Sequoyah, Jake McLaughlin, Delroy Lindo, Kyle MacLachlan, Jamie Chung, and Arian Moayed.
The show got off to a positive start on Monday, March 10th — likely thanks to having The Voice as a lead-in. The premiere drew a 2.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.56 million total viewers. It was a distant second in its timeslot, behind ABC’s The Bachelor: After the Final Rose.
The second episode, which aired in Believe’s regular Sunday night timeslot, saw the ratings drop 45% in the demo and 22% in viewership. Last week’s installment fell another 18% in the demo and 22% in viewers.
To drop to a 1.2 rating in the demo after just three episodes is a very bad sign for Believe’s future. It’s possible that the numbers could turn around and start to rise but it’s more likely that they’ll keep falling. The network needs new successful programming for their schedule and it seems clear that this isn’t it.
But, what do you think? Do you like the Believe TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
KEEP BELIEVE, THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER SHOWS TO GET RID OF,BUY KEEP BELIEVE
I enjoyed this show and feel it should not be cancelled. This is one of the best new shows on TV….. Please don’t CANCEL THIS SHOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Debray. USA & TNT at least try a show for a couple of seasons before giving it the boot. Believe & Crisis are just two shows to name a few that brought me back to NBC. Now I’m pretty much done with them. See ya, NBC. Your decision making process leaves me wanting.
Yes keep this show on … I love it
It is amazing that every single show that is family oriented, intelligent and thinks outside of the box of every other “reality trash” show is cancelled before it is even given a chance! This was a great show that just needed to catch on with everyone. It has wonderful actors and was very intriguing. WHY does NBC cancel all the good shows to preserve the same old trash?! Pretty soon, there will be nothing but reality shows wall to wall, and we will STOP watching TV, and find new entertainment through Netflix, Pandora and more. NBC will never become #1… Read more »
I invest my time to follow a story, and then the network cancels it. I agree with Debray, another viewer, “Sell it to another network that care about there viewers!” I want to know how the story ends! This is why I prefer books and why I’m often cynical about watching TV programs. Either the story doesn’t end when it should or it ends to soon. Write the story and then give it the episodes it needs to tell the story. You can sell it on DVD or Netflix etc. You would make some money and it would show you… Read more »
L..in case you didn’t know they are finishing out the season. The last eps begin tonight at 8 pm CST. Im upset too that it won’t get a second season, but, at least they are finishing out this season. I really loved this show so much!
I had not heard that they were going to finish out the season.
Thanks for the heads up on that.
Corporations that run television networks do not care about what viewers want they only care about numbers. I guess makes sense in corporate America, but to viewers it just makes you not want to invest in new shows…
It is really quite simple. The writers do not know how to end this story. There are too many pitfalls no matter which way they go. Someone didn’t think this all the way through.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show and feel it should not be cancelled. The problem with ratings is not the show but the day and time it’s put on TV. If it were aired on a weekday night I am sure it would be very well received. It was up against too many other good choices and unfortunately as a viewer you are unable to view them all and sometimes the choices made are not the best ones. It most definitely not be cancelled but given the opportunity to reach the audience it richly deserves.
Love this show keep it on the air
Keep it I loved this show!
Really liked the show. I hope it will continue for season 2.
I liked believed I think it was. Canceled because there. Was no sex an replaced it with a boating talk kinky show. With sickening bunch of sexy wishful. Women
Keep it, my daughter and I love it. It has so many good things to offer but hope is hard to sell and they did it with this show. They did such a great job of relaying heartfelt emotions in nearly each episode. The writers and cast deserve to picked up by another studio to continue the good work they were doing, I am hopeful that can happen here if NBC doesn’t change there mind.
they will probably cancel the show.too bad i thought it was pretty good.
Thought I’d give this network another try, but they did it again this is why I don’t watch NBC! Sell it to another network that care about there viewers! That is what “C” in NBC should stand for CANCELED!!!
I don’t understand why they are canceling such a great show. I am very disappointed and mad because they are also canceling the crisis another very good show. I really look forward every Sunday to watch these two great shows. Now there is nothing to do but be bored to death. Thanks a lot NBC. You ruined many people’s Sunday nights.
