Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I love this show. There should a season 4 I want more
I absolutely loved this show. Very disappointed that it was cancelled. It was beautifully done. I strongly disagree with their decision to cancel this series!
Nooooo!!! I’m so very disappointed that Cedar Cove has been cancelled, it was such a great series.
I loved this show. Like everyone on here I was wondering when it was coming back on just to see that it’s not renewed. It’s always the nice clean shows that are taking off the air. Every time I found a decent show that I enjoy and put my time in watching it the networks decide to not renew these shows. Why should we invest our time just to have it pulled away as we get into the story. I’ve watched the show from the first day it air and all 3 season. Why not make it a movie of… Read more »
I loved Cedar Cove and I’m very disappointed that it was not renewed. We need many more shows like that. I watch every show and movie that Hallmark produces and I want more.
In just two weeks I binge watched all three seasons of Cedar Cove and I am devastated that there is no season four I wish so badly they wouldbring it back. It was just such a pleasure to see the beauty of Cedar Cove and the relationships on the show.
So sad! I loved Cedar Cove! It’s a shame such a wonderful program is cancelled. The networks are full of trashy programs. I always looked forward to watching Cedar Cove. Sad to see it go
I LOVED Cedar Cove!!! Everything about this show was great–the cast, the setting, the story line. Just like real life, it had plenty of drama, and it also had funny and quirky moments too. The perfect blend of serious and lighthearted events. I’m not a huge TV watcher, so it is not often that I love a show enough to watch every episode. Cedar Cove was one of those rare shows. Bring it back!!!
It was refereshing to see a show without violence and sexual content. It addressed topics of interest human nature. It was what I would call a good home feeling type of show. To see its end was disappointing, I am really tired of seeing good shows come to an end because there is not enough negative content to it. Consider continuing the show, I even had my 3 1/2 year old sit with me.
Loved the show. Please bring Cedar Cove back!
This was a great show. We need answers. Wish it could get renewed!!
Yes, Hallmark should definitely bring back Cedar Cove. I read all of Debbie Macomber Cedar Cove books and I was enjoying watching the show and know the characters. Please bring it back.
Hallmark should definitely bring back Cedar Cove. It was a great show and needs to be on air! There are way too many unanswered questions.

I wish it didn’t end this way!!! I need answers..Bring it back
