A network that has plenty of cop and legal TV shows, CBS hasn’t had a successful medical drama in quite awhile. Will Code Black become a ratings success or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressures on its staff. The cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Raza Jaffrey, Bonnie Somerville, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Luis Guzman.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/24 update: Now that the season’s wrapping up, should Code Black return for a second season?
2/25 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

Code Black is an extremely well written television series. We were pleasantly surprised at how good it is and how well the show continues to be entertaining. It is very high energy, great acting, great writing and great directing. We hope that the show will continues. It is one of the best that we have seen in a long time.
This is the Best show on TV, my son who’s a total brainiac even loves it, he is 14 years old. I work 2 jobs, it’s the only show that I make sure I record and watch religiously. Don’t take this one away…..just place it in the 8pm, EST and it will grow wild.
I truly enjoy Code Black and have been hooked on it from the beginning. There are only a
handful of shows that I really enjoy… this has been one of them. I hope the producers will see fit to
bring this back for at least a 2nd season… maybe more.

One of my favorites
Code black is one of the best new shoes on tv. However it is set up to have bad rating because it’s up against Chicago PD which is already a hit. Move it to a spot where it has a chance to survive.
This is a fantastic show. I am sick reality TV, this show id refreshing
I absolutely love this show, so many good shows get cancelled and it is hard when you get hooked on one and then it finishes after a season or a few episodes, I really hope this one stays it has great story lines and characters that I want to follow to know each week, this one is a keeper I hope it stays on.
I am not one to comment on things like this, nor one to get hooked on a show in its first season, but Code Black had me truly hooked on it. I not so patiently wait each week for the new episode and even track it down on CBS’s app to rewatch it. Its my number one new show for sure!! I really hope it gets renewed, its a quality show with lots of storylines to tell. Plus CBS really does need a good medical drama, so here’s hoping that I hear good news soon about a second season for… Read more »
