NBC has made a schedule change for the final Sunday of May sweeps, May 18th. The network has replaced Crisis and Believe with an encore of The Women of SNL.
While the Sunday night dramas haven’t been officially cancelled yet, they surely will be. Being pulled from the schedule during the sweeps period — replaced by a rerun of a clipshow, no less — is a very bad sign. The move isn’t a surprise though. Both Crisis and Believe have been performing terribly in the ratings.
Crisis is averaging a meager 1.1 in the 18-49 demographic with 4.48 million viewers. Believe is averaging a 1.3 in the demo with 5.45 million. Both shows drew a 1.0 in the demo this past Sunday and have each dropped below a ratings point in the past few weeks.
Both shows were already off the schedule this Sunday and are now expected to return on Sunday, May 25th. They each have 13 episodes in their respective seasons. Eight episodes of Crisis and nine episodes of Believe have aired so far.
Hopefully NBC will run all of the episodes. Hoepfully the finales will cap the series in satisfying ways. Unless there’s some kind of miracle, neither of these shows will be returning for a second season.
What do you think? If you were running the network, would you cancel both of these shows? Do you think one is better than the other?
I liked both shows! We (my spouse and daughter) we’re watching them together every week! I will miss them….
I love both shows and hate the snl again . I was so
Happy every Sunday to FINALLY have
a fantastic Sunday, this sucks.
I won’t watch any of this .

I was really enjoying the series believe. My son and I wiuld sit down every Sunday night to watch. I wouldn’t have taken off that one. They need to take a poll on things like that before they pull them off!!!! Mad and upset!!

I hope crisis and hostages come back and i hope crisis finale ends well if it doesn’t return next season.
I liked both shows. It was family time and enjoying wind down time getting ready for the week. What a shame
My family LOVE Believe! It was the only show we would watch together all week! My entire family (mom, boy/girl twins age 12 and brother age 14 – so at these ages, bringing us all together is priceless!) is still hopeful NBC will keep this great family show!

Why do you people cancel all the best shows. We love Believe and Crisis, Couldn’t you put it on like a Tuesday at 10 or even other nights if you feel competition is on the rise. There are so many shows on the same time. People DVR it cause they have things on Sunday and its hard but many many watch the program, its a great show, one that catches the interest of many. NBC has a problem with the programing and can’t get it together what is wrong. Just like the show Smash, it was a smash and then… Read more »

I loved both shows, and I felt pitting Believe against Resurrection and Crisis against Revenge was ridiculous. They deserve another chance for the summer. Look at “Under the Dome” – it found a summer following… I think Nielsen needs to be updated, and I think the “Big-Wigs” often get it wrong…. and you move these programs around at times when you know they will fail.

I love both show please do not cancel. Due to My schedule I always record my shows or watch on on demand. I think they should keep these on shows on the air. I am very sadden they are canceling. I think you should try different day to air these shows, maybe even changing the time.

I think that Believe sucked – but I REALLY liked Crisis. I don’t understand why Crisis is being given the boot. However, I only see it as a one season show.
I like both shows. Like others I record to watch later. My husband is big sports fanatic so recording allows me to watch and get more invested in the characters. Love Believe. It has so many ways to go. Like relationship of Beau and Tate. It is a nice change from all of the darker shows that are coming on. Also like Crises. Very good, but figured it was short lived unless came up with other story lines. How long can you keep kids hostage? Good acting and good story.
I think NBC should def. keep Crisis especially since it’s getting rid of several of it’s other regular multi season shows. An almost all freshman line up is completely unpredictable. They could put it on before blacklist on Thursdays I think it would do better there, but hey what do I know. Also the previous comments about ratings technology are very valid, why don’t you networks spend some of those millions on investing in upgrading Nielsen rating technology? It makes viewers leery of getting into new shows, bc if not enough of our demo is watching ur just gonna up… Read more »

I heard somewhere that Nielsen was revamping their ratings system. Obviously, they still haven’t gotten it right. They also need to rethink that 18-49 demo.
