The ABC TV show about what happens in the future apparently doesn’t have one. FlashForward has been cancelled after one season.
FlashForward begins as the world’s population blacks out for 137 seconds and they “flash forward” to see visions of their lives six months in the future. The series’ ensemble cast includes Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Zachary Knighton, Peyton List, Dominic Monaghan, Brian F. O’Byrne, Courtney B. Vance, Sonya Walger, and Christine Woods.
The series debuted in September and attracted a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.47 million viewers. With a lot of buzz, it seemed like ABC had a hit. For week two, the ratings dropped to a still very respectable 3.7 and 10.73 million.
But then viewership just kept falling, hitting a low of a 2.1 in the key demo and just 7.1 million viewers. Then, ABC pulled the series for three months. The spin was that they would relaunch FlashForward after the Olympics.
The network gave the return a significant amount of promotion but it didn’t help. FlashForward’s ratings were even worse and they just kept dropping. They’ve gotten so bad that The CW has been beating them in the demo.
To no surprise, ABC has cancelled FlashForward after one season of 20 episodes. The series finale will air in two weeks, on May 27th.
What do you think? Did FlashForward deserve a second season? Could ABC have saved it? If given the chance, how would you wrap it up?

I agree with all of the above. This is better then 99% of shows on tv now! Please reconsider!!
Flashforward was a great show but just like lost you would have to see it from the begining or you will loose intrest. I have been a fan from day one and would like to see it stay for next year.
Unbelievable! This show was obviously far too sophisticated for the majority of viewers to be able to follow. The mix of physics concepts and convoluted plot line was above the average viewer. This show was so well thought out and completely riveting. I am literally devastated at this unfortunate turn of events. Once again, the networks play to the lowest common denominator! I agree with the previous comment that it would be nice if another network picked this up. However, I am sure the likelihood of this is virtually nil.
i love this show!!! i just cant get enough of it. maybe if the advertise it more or place the show in a better time slot then people will watch it more. i love the turn out of events and the twists. nicely written and well executed by the actors. i hope the network will give this show another shot and I WANT A 2ND SEASON OF FLASHFORWARD!!!!
f*** you abc
best show on tv!!!! cannot believe they are so stupid….
NO!!! This was the only show in the past 5 YEARS I have tuned into every single episode!! This was an original thought – “V” is a remake and I watched all the classics online in one day…no need to view the rehashed version! Even if they allowed one more season to wrap everything up, I could appreciate that – but just axing it like this is deplorable!! Why on earth would I ever tune in to a series on ABC in the future if this is what can happen??!
I am so disappointed in ABC. FlashForward is the most interesting show on television and there is no way they can wrap it up or satisfy the avid follows. Someone start a petition or pull a “Jericho.”
Hate that this is being canceled!! Beginning to think that only the stupid reality shows have a chance on thus episode! I agree that if the play the episodes consectively then maybe they would keep the viewers!!
DAR~DARN~DARN………….SO SAD 🙁 LOVE Flash Forward!!! Never missed a episode. Really wish they would of given it a chance.
sorry – but F*** ABC, why is it all ways about the damn money??? hah? This show was amazing… I just can’t believe they are canceling it! It’s just stupid!!! But still hoping that thet will change thiere minds!!!!
Even in Europe, we ve been following flashforward. It’s a very good serie which diserves a second chance / season ! A mix between Science Fiction and detective novel… Didn’t find a serie as this on ! (do u know if there’s another one similar… ?)
Hope there willl be some changes in the next few months, cause that’s a pity !
I cannot believe that they are canceling the show after one season. Next to Lost this is one of the best shows on TV period! I can’t believe a show like “In the Middle” got a second season. Whatever, I hate ABC now.
I love this show, if you let the good shows play instead of allowing weeks in between them, you would keep the ratings. The show has a good concept and your cancelling yet another good show.
Typical network move – I am very disappointed. The logical time slot for this particular show would have been to follow Lost, being that they are similar. They could have had another huge viewer following, especially with Lost coming to a close. It is obvious ABC had to make a choice between Flashforward and V, and evidently they chose the later. Maybe if we are lucky one of the other stuggling networks will pick it up.
