A couple weeks ago, we reported that President of CBS Entertainment Nina Tassler said that the network had six leftover episodes of Flashpoint and that they “most likely” would air over the Summer. She noted that the TV show has been a good utility player for CBS but didn’t indicate if it had much of a future there.
CBS licenses Flashpoint from Canada and ran most of the season three episodes last summer. CTV has already ordered season four and those 18 episodes are currently being produced.
It’s now being reported that CBS has licensed seven of those new installments of Flashpoint, will combine them with the leftover six, and run the 13 episodes this summer.
ION has purchased a syndication package of the 62 episodes of Flashpoint, including the 11 episodes that CBS didn’t purchase. The cable channel is expected to begin running the series sometime after the CBS run.
This is certainly good news for faithful viewers but it seems like this may signal the end of Flashpoint on CBS. Fortunately, it looks like the show’s future isn’t dependent on CBS’ participation since CTV ordered season four without the US network.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear there’s more Flashpoint coming?

I want to know if there is a show after season 3 episode where Ed was getting shot. WHERE IS THE ENDING OF THAT SHOW HELP.
I LOVE Flashpoint!!! Great cast; great characters; I love the way the team handles their “situations”. Great show, will be so sad to see it go.
I enjoy the show very much. I hope CBS will continue to show this Canadian base show. It is the best thing on Friday nights when everyone else is doing reruns.
I love this show!! Great actors great story lines!!! CBS Please don’t drop this show!!!
My wife and I both love the show. watch it faithfully . great job
My husband and I are very happy that we will be able to see future episodes – on whichever channel. But I hate having to be an “investigator” to uncover the fates of our favorite shows. I think the networks owe it to the viewers to put some HINT on the screen (e.g., “After four more episodes, this program will no longer be shown on this channel.”) oh, I KNOW that’s a pipe dream! The networks/channels encourage us to watch their programs … but then feel NO obligation to enlighten viewers about the fate of the same programs!
[…] aired most of the episodes from season three but still had six installments left on the shelf. In January, the decision was made to license seven more episodes, combine them with the leftover six and run […]
flashpoint is great. but there is enough stupid reality shows to take it’s place. ah tha 60’s and seventies at least when they had stupid shows they were script shows. they did not take a group of no ones and make a stupid reality show. we had dick clark bloopers which at least he knew how to mc. now anything goes. cbs tried to fool us with criminal minds suspects but that did not happen.
Sorry to see it go. Ridiculous that 11 episodes won’t be aired on CBS after the obvious investment in the series. This is not a case of good money after bad, but rather the opposite. The downside to airing the final 11 is, oh wait, there is none. Fans like what they like and this show is a winner, albeit CTV winner. Way to NOT go CBS.
Love flashing, one of the best shows on tv
It is the #1 show on summer TV, keep up the good work CBS. AAAA+
happy to see flashpoint renewed even for a shortm time. As for me getting it I am in the Philippines and can receive all showes through the internet. Since the major networks cant find a way to show us the showes we will find a way.I think it is styuped that HULU cant broadcast to me. I am a US citizen paying for AOL through my US adress and am blocked. Stupid the public is growing and we will not be denied.
Flashpoint is one of the worst shows I have ever seen. Hammy acting, terrible script, and inplausible premise. What a waste of time, money, and man hours. An embarrassment to CBS. Who is responsible for this mess? They should be chastised. I would rather watch a 20 year old re-run of a good show. Terrible, terrible show with the worst
background music, bad acting, and homely actors.
If you don’t like it then don’t watch it!! It takes someone intelligent to understand the scripts anyways.. haha
Flash point is my favorite show, with on second place NCIS, i hate the fact how the last season got cut, and hell yes i hope there will come many many more!!
That would totally suck if it was on available on cable! I DON’T HAVE CABLE!!! :(( I love love LOVE this show and I would hate to see CBS not air it! I am sure I’m not the only one without cable!!
