CBS has been having a great season. Several of their new shows have been successful and many of their established series are still doing well. Unfortunately, that could be bad news for fans of a little show called Flashpoint.
Flashpoint follows the work of a group of highly trained police officers called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU). The series stars Enrico Colantoni, David Paetkau, Hugh Dillon, Sergio Di Zio, Michael Cram, Mark Taylor, Ruth Marshall, and Amy Jo Johnson.
The show was initially produced for Canada’s CTV and CBS picked up the rights to air season one during the writers strike. It ended up performing well for the network and that led CBS to join CTV in renewing it for seasons two and three.

Season three of Flashpoint was supposed to begin airing early this year but the network has so much successful programming that the show still hasn’t been put back on the schedule.
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, recently told critics at the TCA press tour that Flashpoint was now being pushed outside the regular season. That means that the cop series won’t be back until late-Spring or Summer 2010 at the earliest.
While the show has performed well during the summer months in the past, there’s no guarantee that will continue. The show will have been off the air for almost a year by the time it returns. The longer that the show is off the air, the more likely that viewers — and TV executives — will forget about it.

I have been hoping for new shows I hope they haven’t canceled this show I really enjoyed it I’m tired of getting interested in a show then having it canceled I rely hope they have new shows the actors are great
It is a shame that Flashpoint is being terminated. It is one of the very few police type dramas that features a sincere attempts to teach a lesson about crime without huge explosive scenes or lose of life. Each episode, I found, had a lesson to be learned from the criminal, police, victim and family points of view. I hope the cancellation of Flashpoint will be reconsidered and the excellent cast returned for our future enjoyment. With best wishes and regards.

I don,t care how long it has been off, BRING IT BACK ,my whole family watches it . THAT IS WHY I HATE TO WATCH TV, you get Interested in a show and they CANCEL IT. Maybe thats why people stop watching TV. Maybe there will be no more TV if people stop watching it .
The Show is a very good one i did injoy. But i did watch one that the language that was used was on call for. My GOD”s Name should not be used! We would have more good moves and show if they would just clear thing up. This kind of language does not belong
on know TV. This World need to Change.

The writing is terrible, the show is unrealistic as hell, and the guy from “Just shoot me” is not only the worst actor on television but was totally mis-cast for the part!
I just laughed when in one of the first episodesthere was a hostage situation and they all had their rifles lowered then everytime the camera would focus on them they would re-raise their weapons!
ION television has a real loser on their hands picking up this show!

If you people at ABC don’t continue this series you are missing the BOAT! My husband and I LOVE this show! We are now watching repeats on Ion. As the lady above said “it is well written” the characters meld together so great,. the story lines are always so exciting, and uninticipated! I’m so sick of these trashy sitcoms television stations are showing. I hate sitcomes and never ever watch them. Continue this wholsome, and exciting program FLASHPOINT!!! I agree with Barbara. I just recently found Flashpoint on ION and have been DVR-ing every episode. I hope the show isn’t cancelled because I love it.
This is a great TV show and even though it is the only thing that shows in the slightest that it’s CANADIAN is calling themselves SRU (Strategic Response Unit) whenever they show up in a situation. WHY NOT just simply say THE POLICE which is what they really do anyway. The blah blah saying SRU (Strategic Response Unit) everytime is the only thing that makes it Canadian otherwise it’s as good as any cop show.
Flashpoint has been one of my favorite shows for the past few seasons, when it is being shown, and I cannot believe that CBS is dragging their feet in bringing it back for Fall, 2011. I see that it is being shown on ION, but we do not get that channel. Flashpoint is one of the better done shows on today. It is well written, acted, and has a real sense of family. Flashpoint was one of the better shows on TV – can’t believe it was taken off the air. Surely CBS could get rid of some of their “dribble” and put it back on! Good dialog, characters, story plots, etc. What were you thinking to take it off?
It isn’t cancelled in Canada and it’s going to be broadcast in the USA starting October 18th on ION. I hope you get that channel.
MY HUSBAND AND I REALLY LIKE FLASHPOINT. I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT IT IS BEING PUSHED BACK AND CBS IS KEEPING SOME OF ITS OTHER SHOWS THAT ARE NOT NEARLY AS GOOD.

Flashpoint is a good show. Enjoy watching the show with my wife. Flashpoint should be renewed.
