Yesterday, we reported that Legend of the Seeker there were strong rumors that the TV show had been cancelled after two seasons on the air. ABC Studios, which produces the program, hasn’t made an official announcement. However, two of the show’s most vocal supporters have.
Actress Bridget Reagan (Confessor Kahlan) wrote, via Twitter, “Got some sad news that Seeker is no more. So sad to say goodbye to my NZ family but excited for what’s next.”
Via his own Twitter account, producer Mike Sussman wrote, “The quest is complete. Thank you so much to our amazing cast, crew & all our fans, it’s been an awesome two years. We will miss you all.”
What do you think? Was Legend of the Seeker worth watching? Why do you think the show’s ratings were on the decline?

I will really miss this show. This was one of the few shows that entertained, speaking to the hero in us all. The daily struggle between the dark and light, good and bad can be seen on TV news and paper headlines. I like to see the good guys win. A little escapism goes a long way. TV execs don’t care if we are entertained or not .Fun and fantasy must not rake in the big bucks. The Seeker airs on the CW, which is over endowed with teen and twenty- something boring, witless drama queens and kings that hold little… Read more »
too bad i watch it every week
Kill it. I always felt like I was back in the 90’s watching Hercules or Xena when this came on. Terrible show. Good riddance.
Bahh….. the problem is that they haven’t truly caught onto online media. They rely so much on crappy cable TV ratings. Nobody looks and acts on the world of the internet where a HUGE market of watchers stand by.
I love this show too, and if I can’t watch it rite away…I always recored
Love the Seeker, sad to see it end. It is great escapist fare, and very well-played by all the actors. The costumes are way cool, and the women’s roles are, too. The setting in NZ is fabulously beautiful, and the characters are growing slowly. Most enjoyable. Even my engineer husband was seduced by it, and that’s saying a lot. If we didn’t have TIVO, I don’t know how we’d get the show. Heck, family members who don’t have cable come over to watch it off my TIVO because they’ve read the books, too and love the show. It’s a good… Read more »
It’s a great show, and I will be sorry to see it go. Thank goodness they finished up one quest the first season and appear to be finishing up another this second season. I hope they will wrap up some of the story lines. I wish they could have had at least one more year. I can think of one reason why ratings declined: They put new episodes on very sporadically, and then would repeat several older episodes. If I missed a new one, it would take forever to get onto Hulu, so I really had to wait a long… Read more »
I think this is horrible! I love this show and only found out about it because I have trouble sleeping! It is aired at 1:00 Sunday Morning!!!! I don’t believe that this show was even given a fair chance. I never even saw promos for it! And what chance did it have in this time slot? There are very few shows that an entire family can get into and this is definitely one of those shows!!!!Save The Seeker!!!!!
I want more Seeker! I fell in love with the show from the first time I watched it. I would do anything so it won’t be cancelled.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this show. It was able to keep you on the edge of your chair and looking forward to the nest week. Lets face it it was a change of pace from the Reality Shows, murders, sic comics, wife swaps, and even “real housewives”, etc. TV has changed for the worse over the years. Don’t know where these writers come up with their inspirations BUT…….. I think this show would’ve had a bigger fan base and numbers if they had played it in Prime Time. If I hadn’t got very sick for a long period of time… Read more »
Surprised it lasted this long. Bad writing, bad storylines, awful dialogue, trite resolutions. It followed the path of the original novels. Started with a bang – couldn’t find direction – meadered around lost – lost the fans and no one cared how it ended.
I disagree. I want to and care to see how it ends. I wnat more seasons.
Hope they are just rumors, enjoy Seeker and cast. It is a relief to a series that deals with other than all the police and heavy, heavy “today” type of shows….great escape…if it is gone, it will be greatly missed.
It’s unfortunate that Legend of the Seeker is being canceled. Maybe if they aired it during prime time instead of in the afternoon on Saturday or at 12:35 on Saturday and Sunday and put some thought and money into advertising the show it might have done better. Unless someone just happened upon Legend of the Seeker, I do not believe that many people even knew of the existence of this show. I will be sad to see Legend of the Seeker go as it was one of my favorite shows and I look forward to Saturday afternoons to watch Legend… Read more »

I’m getting Veronica Mars flashbacks.
Also, how much more official can you get than a producer? Sheesh.
