Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

The series just ended here in the Netherlands. I was trying to find out if there was a second season, but I’m reading everywere that ABC cancelled the series. I liked it a lot, it keeps you at the edge of your seat and I’m sorry to hear there probably won’t be a second series. It deserves it though!
Misssing was one of the best new shows on TV! It was finally a show with just as much car chasing and excitement and thrills as a movie. Bring it back!!
Oh please ! This fantastic show has to be continued ! Now we watched it & hold our hearts for nothing… Son back, getting the car, wham, gone. It doesn’t make sense…
Please, writers, you really really really really have to start with season 2. I’ll watch, I’ll really do !

I hardly ever manage to sit through 45 minutes of an episode of any show. This one is the first one that kept me on my couch for two episodes in a row each weekend. I want to know what happened to Becca! Please make the next season!

I agree with some of the other comments. This was one of the best new shows I have ever seen. right up there with Sons or Anarchy and Crimminal Minds. They haven’t cancelled those shows. ABC is full of idiots. They finally had a good show on ABC that I liked to watch and they cancelled it. I never watch ABC because it does not have many good shows. The serie missing just ended inmy country, the Netherlands, and there is nothing i want more right now than hearing of or seeing a new season of missing. The end says with becca missing that it’s not over yet, and when i looked on the internet, it did say it was cancelled, and i was like no freaking way!?!!!€&@%^*]+|^. Pls bring it back, and evrybody i know shares this feeling 🙂
On Dutch television is was broadcasted per two episodes, which meant the series didn’t last too long. It was full of action, excitement and lots of plots, so we enjoyed it here. The end was kept open, so we did think a second season would come, but reading the rates in de US, there’s not much of a chance it will. We’re sorry about that,

love this series was heart breaking to see it dropped it should be brought back. i watch tv on line and found out too late that it was ever on, this is the pits, i enjoy series like csi and ncis and this is fresh and new! it everyone’s loss that it’s no longer on. With that said there are those who can and should bring it back ……. will they? i for one hope they do!
I can understand the series dropped at first, but most of those series has a story!
So, i started to like the serie from episode 3-4.. i can understand that people can’t wait that long to hang on, but I definitly like the serie! but it din’t end the way i thought.. so, they’ve got to make another season!!

I’ve spend the last 3 days watching this serie online and i’m hooked.
The family is back together and they can start a new life and instead of ending it there (i’ve bet they knew that season 2 was canceled, even back then) they make Becca dissappear with no hope of how, when, where or whatever..
It’s not fair!!
