What do you think? Do you like the Pan Am TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

To the doubters, I am former Pan Am and have first hand knowledge that the spy angle is correct. And why not? Young women overlooked and underestimated with savvy social skills who speak more than 1 language and are at home around the globe. I love that Pan Am is not pandering; uses foreign languages and ports of call; that women are the main protagonists without being shrill or bitchy; the music is the bomb and the costumes and decor are right on. Fave scene so far: Collette singing Deutschland Uber Alles.
The writing needs to improve. Sometimes the plots are too simplistic (if we had spies like these, we would have lost the Cold War). At other times, the series appears to be tongue-in-cheek. I think the series might survive if the writers can figure out what they want to do with the characters, whether we should be taking stories literally or with a grain of salt. Pan Am cannot survive just based on stylized views of the 60s. People will soon tire of that, as ratings already demonstrate.
I love this show. I do agree it’s in the wrong time slot. Are they worried Desperate Housewives will slump in ratings in its final season? Pan Am is an amazing show. I look forward to it every week.
Judging by the steady decline, it’s doomed. Luckily for it, the numbers for Charlie’s Angels were worse. Pan Am belongs with The Playboy Club as one of those shows that’s trying to follow in Mad Men’s footsteps (and frankly, TPC was a better show) as being about “60s Chic”. Unfortunately, the history of “set in the sixties” serial dramas in prime time has been less than spectacular for a decade or more. The swift cancellation of TPC and the steady decline of PA does not suggest that’s about to change anytime soon. I don’t mind Pan Am, but it’s pretty… Read more »
there wasn’t enough meat without the espionage twist, but the espionage twist doesn’t fit. won’t be around for S2.
Love the show!! I’m hoping they don’t canceled it. Abc should move to a new time slot.
I really liked the most recent episode of Pan Am that put the spotlight on Ted. How did this show manage to get me to like Ted?? It’s amazing! Sadly, the stewardesses looked like a bunch of twittering ninnies in the episode, when compared to the real drama and tragedy of Ted. But in any case, I agree that the show should be moved to 9pm to give it a chance to shine. Why not put the final season of a veteran drama like Desperate Housewives against the (inexplicable) ratings winner of CSI:Miami? You’re not going to renew that show… Read more »
Stupid show. Cancel it.
C’mon ABC! Move this show to 9pm where it deserves to be. Having the slumping final season of “Desperate Housewives” is whats keeping the far superior “Pan-Am” from truly shining in the ratings!
I love this show. I love the era of the 1960’s. The show is in the wrong time slot. I knew there would be a problem with it going up against CSI:Miami. Wrong move to put against such a popular show. Please do not cancel, give it a chance. Let it run through the second season. Play with it. Do show changes in time or the night it is on. Be sure to let the viewers know about these changes so it does not get lost in the shuffle. That is what happened with Medium.
Something is wrong with this series when the viewers stop watching in such large numbers.
i’ve already known that pan-am would not workout eventhough the show is good but why is viewers not tuning in???? i hope abc picks up the series for at least 18-22 episodes for the season and maybe there (won’t)maybe a second season afterall if they have any chances in store for pan-am and there chances of renewal
I love this show and look forward to it every week. I love it’s comedy and drama and I think the cast is wonderfully entertaining. I will watch the show as long as it airs and I will be very disappointed if it gets cancelled. The constant change of venue in the show keeps the story fresh and entertaining. I hope my comments assist in keeping “Pan Am” on air.
Let it fly like it should and move it to 9 pm start. It is great and well done.
Love it!! It’s smart, sexy, and addresses the glamour and courage of a real woman.
