It’s 2009 all over again. The Prison Break TV show has been cancelled by FOX. Again. Although the network revived the crime drama for a limited fifth season, there will be no season six, at least not in the near future. FOX CEO Gary Newman did tell Deadline the network is open to future installments, however. Newman noted that, if the producers “came back” with an idea for another season down the line, the network could be open to it.
An action thriller, Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Mark Feuerstein, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, Paul Adelstein, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune, and Inbar Lavi.
The FOX TV series revolves around Michael Scofield (Miller), who vowed to help his brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), escape from death row.
Prison Break: A Look at the Ratings
The fifth season of Prison Break averaged a 1.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.82 million viewers. It landed near the middle of the pack, among FOX TV shows where its demo is concerned, and in the lower third, in terms of total audience size.
Although they wrote the revival as a single season story, the writers had said additional seasons were possible. Apparently, the mediocre ratings did not tempt the network to order more for the 2017-18 season.

Loved this season 5! It was so good!
Please bring back Prison Break for season 6. Or at least let Netflix pick it up. Wentworth Miller & Dominic Purcell have great chemistry together and the show is full of great story lines. It was cancelled before and now again. Nobody has time to watch live TV in this day and age. It would be a huge disappointment letting this show go for good.
I was sooo excited to hear about Prison Break coming back and I didn’t expect it to be this good!! Ive watched seasons 1-4 over and over, 10 times probably. And now this was a tease… a complete tease 🙁 I’m happy that Micheal is alive and I don’t know how theto will end it with this last episode next week but I know it won’t be enough!! Prison break has made a huge impact on me. This show is one of the best shows I have ever watched. I feel very connected to every character in different ways. Seeing prison break end is not what I wanted. I would love to see a season 6. And I would watch all the seasons of prison break over and over again. Please don’t cancel it

Please bring Prison Break back for a 6th season! If not I could see Netflix picking it up which would be awesome! We all love this show and nobody ever watches “live” tv anymore and ratings are not accurate. Really hope to see it continue.
My boys and I were so excited to see Prison Break return to tv. It’s just as exciting now as it was when the first four seasons came out. Every time a good show comes out or returns to tv it gets cancelled for a show not worth watching. My family we like the thrilling sit on the edge of your seat crime drama shows and that’s what Prison Break is to us.
