As devoted fans know, ABC cancelled Pushing Daisies in November after two short seasons. Despite passionate pleas and campaigns there’s been no word of a reprise. Series creator Bryan Fuller has moved over to NBC’s Heroes to hopefully pull it out of its current creative slump. In fact, he’s already created a guest role for Daisies’ Swoosie Kurtz on the NBC series.
There are still three episodes of Daisies left to air and, unfortunately, there’s been no word on when we’ll get to see them. It looked like one would air last week but ABC replaced it with reruns of the previous night’s episodes of Scrubs.
The network still hasn’t found a spot for the three installments on their schedule. There’s word that ABC is contractually obligated to run them at some point and that they may be aired all on one night. As more time passes, it doesn’t seem at all that unlikely that ABC may burn them off on a Saturday night.

Titled “Kerplunk,” the Daisies series finale will center around the murder of one half of a synchronized swimming team, competitors of the Darling Mermaid Darlings. The episode will supposedly give us a bit of closure for the series but will also have fans itching for more. Fuller has said that he wants to continue the show’s story in movie and/or comic book form. With Fuller busy on Heroes, it doesn’t seem like there’s been any progress on either possibility.
Fuller has had time to share a very small taste from the finale with The Pie Maker site. Though the image is visually enticing, it only leaves us craving more. Let’s hope that ABC gives fans a break and serves the “full meal” soon.

Fans of “Pushing Daisies” now have a date when they can see the final episodes of the series
Ok, I finally figured it out. The networks don’t want anything good to be on too long as it might detract from their cheap garbage designed to hypnotise the masses of mindless sheep. Good acting, good writing, imagination – that’s all too expensive and probably over the heads of the average joe sixpack, who would rather be staring at some bimbo’s boobs than actually putting their brain into gear.
Why cancel another great show only to show reruns or reality shows? Is this what our future holds? Pushing Daisies has great writing and a talented cast only to be shut out by reruns of Lost? Give me a break ABC. Look at your audience and stop taking great shows off of the air! Keep Pushing Daisies. This is one of the few shows that my whole family, adults and kids, can watch together.
I hope this is not the end.. we all need more of Pushing Daisies.. I have to agree the others that I do not understand, why such a good serie has to be cancelled.. I wait for more…
I think they should quit giving the repeats of lost on Wendsdays at 8pm with the so obvious pop up that only explain what everyone that has watched already knows. If they would do that for at least 3 weeks they could delight all us Pusing Daisies fans with the final episodes and we can feel a little closure.
ABC just doesn’t care about their viewers. That’s the bottom line.
I am so pissed thatb abc is cancelling Pushing Daisies!! I love this show it’s on the DVR so i never miss and episode! WHY do these networks cancel the good shows? KEEP PUSHING DAISIES ON THE AIR!! or some other network buy it from abc they can’t handle the show anyway someone else can take it on! and keep the same name the “up” is stupied!
[…] served up on The Pie Maker (thanks to tvseriesfinales for the link). Not much — only two seconds of video, in fact — but it’s […]
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! ITS DIFFERENT, ITS CORKY AND ITS FUNNY. WE DONT HAVE TOO MANY SHOW OUT THERE THAT IS SO DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE. I WISH ABC WOULD RECONSIDER TAKING THIS SHOW OFF THE AIR. AND ANOTHER THING I LIKED THE NAME “PUSHING UP DAISIES” BETTER! IT MAKES MORE SENSE TO HAVE THE UP IN THERE.
