Tonight marks the last episode of Ringer’s first season — and likely of the TV series as well. Despite being The CW’s most anticipated new TV show of 2011-12, the series hasn’t been able to hold onto its audience.
Ringer revolves around a former exotic dancer named Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who, after being the sole witness to a professional hit, reunites with her wealthy estranged twin, Siobhan. When Siobhan disappears, Bridget assumes her identity and discovers that her sister’s complicated life rivals her own. The show also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Mike Colter, Ioan Gruffudd, Zoey Deutch, Tara Summers, and Kristoffer Polaha).
The series debuted to strong numbers (by CW standards anyway) with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million total viewers. That was pretty close to being on par with the smallest network’s most popular show, The Vampire Diaries.

Unfortunately, the second episode of Ringer lost 25% in the demo and by the fourth installment, the series lost another 33%. Not good. It didn’t help that the network put the struggling series on hiatus for two months.
The ratings have fluctuated somewhat over the course of the season but have been trending downward overall. The most recent episodes of Ringer have been bringing in a 0.4 demo rating and just over a million total viewers. Even by The CW’s standards, those are very bad numbers.
While The CW gets revenue from other areas besides broadcast advertising — big deals from Netflix and Hulu, for example — the network still has to make choices about what to cancel and what to renew. If viewership of Ringer had been on the rise, it would have a chance at being renewed. As it stands now, it looks certain that tonight’s episode will be the last one.

PLEASE RENEW IT! I am so tired of the shows I like getting cancelled. It really pisses me off. But they keep the dumb shows, modern family, suburgatory, vampire diaries! It doesn’t make any sense. And they cancel the good ones, Hellcats, Body of Proof, Off the Map, Pan Am, Trauma(that show was freakin awesome), Combat Hospital, Human Target(best show EVER), Chase(Another Awesome show), The Defenders(all time favorite), Undercovers, The Event. Please don’t cancel. Ringer is such a great TV show. It is one of the only shows on CW that appeals to the non-tween audience.

Ringer should definitely be renewed! Every show has a surprise in the plot. As one reviewer stated above, it should not go the way of Hellcats (which I loved!!). If anything, we viewers need to have closure to this series before it is cancelled!

Please don’t cancel Ringer!!! I too am so tired of these shows disappearing off the air when I get all into them, with no closure or anything. I’m starting to think I will never watch another series again cause they all just leave me hanging. Ringer is amazing and we wanna keep watching it and see Andrew forgive Bridget.
I will be sad and disappointed if Ringer does get cancelled! I was sooooo getting into the show when it first came! Please let it come to Season 2 since it was starting to get REALLY GOOD! I love the story and the cast! Please dont waste it!
Ringer is one of my favourite shows and i will be very upset. The reason it isn’t getting many ratings because it is at a very bad time. As stated on this article there is over 2 million people who would be dissapointed if it was cancelled and just because most people on this earth are stupid and have no brains doesn’t mean it should be ruined for the rest of us. You BETTER KEEP “RINGER” going on!!! My eyes still can’t get enough of SMG! I already had a hard time getting over the fact NOmore HELLCATS would be airing and it was going so good. and now.. RINGER?! I’m bothered by these show you have playing right now and they never end. And the funny this is they all SUCK!
