Tonight marks the last episode of Ringer’s first season — and likely of the TV series as well. Despite being The CW’s most anticipated new TV show of 2011-12, the series hasn’t been able to hold onto its audience.
Ringer revolves around a former exotic dancer named Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who, after being the sole witness to a professional hit, reunites with her wealthy estranged twin, Siobhan. When Siobhan disappears, Bridget assumes her identity and discovers that her sister’s complicated life rivals her own. The show also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Mike Colter, Ioan Gruffudd, Zoey Deutch, Tara Summers, and Kristoffer Polaha).
The series debuted to strong numbers (by CW standards anyway) with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million total viewers. That was pretty close to being on par with the smallest network’s most popular show, The Vampire Diaries.

Unfortunately, the second episode of Ringer lost 25% in the demo and by the fourth installment, the series lost another 33%. Not good. It didn’t help that the network put the struggling series on hiatus for two months.
The ratings have fluctuated somewhat over the course of the season but have been trending downward overall. The most recent episodes of Ringer have been bringing in a 0.4 demo rating and just over a million total viewers. Even by The CW’s standards, those are very bad numbers.
While The CW gets revenue from other areas besides broadcast advertising — big deals from Netflix and Hulu, for example — the network still has to make choices about what to cancel and what to renew. If viewership of Ringer had been on the rise, it would have a chance at being renewed. As it stands now, it looks certain that tonight’s episode will be the last one.
But what do you think? Is it time for Ringer to be cancelled or should there be a second season?

Why should we suffer or the actors because the CW was stupid and gave it a two month break?! Even the best shows can suffer when they take them off the air for long periods of time! Everyone that loves Ringer is crying out for a second season! The CW needs to keep the fans happy and keep it. And keep it regular not play a few episodes then none fr a few wells then one then a week off etc etc. SAVE RINGER!
RENEEEEEEEEEEEW whoever thought it was boring only stopped watching bc it was too complicated for them to follow. for us smart ppl we need more complicated shows!
This show got much better as it went along. The pilot was bad, but im glad I stuck with it. Its to bad the show went on a long break and with the rumors of not being renewed. No wonder the show lost viewers. I hope to see it return, or at least wrap up the show. Loved the finale!
Please you must run another season at least!!!! You left us hanging. We are sick of those reality shows. Ringer was full of drama, suspense and had me watching the CW faithfully every week. You already got rid of “One Tree Hill” and my all time favorite “Smallville” I only had “Supernatural” to hold on to until “Ringer” came along. Evem my husband liked “Ringer”. It was something we enjoyed and planned watching together in out busy lifestyles.
LOL! I didn’t want to say that Aerin, but I’d love it if another station like CBS picked it up! I watch Revenge. I think Ringer would appeal to the same audience!
I’m gonna be SO sad if Ringer does not get renewed! I Love SMG! I grew up watching Buffy, Dawson’s Creek & other age appropriate shows. Ringer is now the only CW show I watch that is for a more mature audience, verses 90210 & Gossip Girl & stuff like that! Ringer is also the ONLY Tuesday night show I have! I loved the season & it left me on the edge of my seat wanting more every week! And as stated, that 2 month hiatus, really did hurt the show. I actually missed the 1st one coming back from… Read more »
I can hardly wait for Tuesday nights every week. Love the show. CW sure knows
How to pick good shows. Please bring Ringer back for another season. The CW is my favorite TV network.
This show is great!! Would definitely say needs a second season. It’s the one show my wife and I love to watch every week. It’s our new 24. Always moving and twisting. Really hope to see a second season.
The problem is that Ringer is too good for the CW! It’s one of my three favorite dramas, along with Mad Men and The Good Wife. It just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the CW’s cheesy trash. I’m not surprised that it doesn’t appeal to the network’s target demo — it’s way too classy. I will really miss it!
Please please don’t cancel Ringer just because it appeals to a more mature audience than the other teany bopper shows!!!
I just watched the season’s finale of Ringer and omg it’s awesome! Please don’t cancel this show, it’s so nice to have something that’s not reality. I will also add that Ringer was the only CW show I was watching until because of Ringer I saw commercials for Hart of Dixie which I now watch every week.
Please renew! Ringer is one of the few shows I watch weekly. I love how the plot is so complicated, it’s not for lazy TV viewers. You have to be engaged at every moment.
Please keep Ringer! It was okay in the beginning, but got way better later on. I was so excited every week for a new episode.
Please keep Ringer on. Best show the network has had in a long time. Cancel Secret Circle.. The secret Circle is crap
keeepp ringerrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!
