To no surprise, FOX has officially decided not to order any more episodes of Running Wilde. While the Will Arnett sitcom has not been officially cancelled, with ratings this bad, there’s no reason for the network to order season two.
Running Wilde debuted to a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.59 million viewers. The next week’s installment dropped more than 20% in the demo and the numbers continued to tumble each week, hitting a 1.1 rating low. The numbers perked up a little after that but they’re still terrible.
The sitcom has been benched for November sweeps and but is scheduled to return on November 30th. The network has seven original episodes and will air them all before the end of the year on selected Tuesday and Sunday nights. You’ll be able to see them on November 30th and December 7th (Tuesdays), December 12th, 19th and 26th (Sundays), and December 28th (Tuesday). Two episodes will air on the 28th as the “Winter finale.”
There are no plans to bring Running Wilde back to primetime right now and, based on the ratings, the network has no reason to want do so. Fans can however catch repeats on Saturday nights at midnight.
What do you think? What went wrong with Running Wilde? Simply not funny or something else?

I thought Will Arnett was the show and that Running Wilde was Hilarious. Arrested Development and Family Guy didn’t make the ratings originally. Nonetheless, people keep asking where is the movie -Arrested Development and the Family Guy returned to tv. Who are making these ratings choices? Now Christian Slater is going to fill the spot… C’mon FOX….BORRR-RING.
that really sucks because my husband and i really liked the show we thought it was pretty funny. hopefully they will pick it up on another channel
Why does every funny show get cancelled? This makes no sense!
This was our favorite show this season. Which means we knew it would be cancelled. What is so wrong about giving a clever show a chance before pulling it. If networks only put out smut for the masses, then our whole society suffers.
I really liked this show! Just like Arrested Development….FOX gets rid of one of the best
one of the few laugh out loud shows on fox.
i guess fox needs a “cable outlet” for shows where the lead isn’t a blonde neanderthal with big bazookas.
or running wilde needs to get picked up by bbc america/other.
It didn’t catch my interest at first, but I started enjoying it the past few weeks. I’m not devistated, but I would have liked to see more episodes.
its a bery funny show ..too bad no more Faadisms….
I agree with Nancy about the publicity. And I agree with everyone else who liked the show as well. It’s a great show! I love Will Arnett – he’s hilarious!! I found it a little strange at first that the show is being told by the young girl… perhaps that’s what put some people off… I don’t know. But I hope they don’t officially cancel it and that they DO end up bringing it back. It has a really funny story-line and great characters (and writers!)
it’s not really a surprise. I mean it was a great show and I thought it was hysterical but here’s one problem that came up: Environmentalists and hardcore liberals absolutely hated the show because of the image it gives them; and on the flipside the upper class / conservative groups also hated how THEY were portrayed. So while I loved the show, lots of people had problems
It is a shame that this cute, funny show is not being continued after this season – finally a funny wholesome show. I do not think FOX did a good job of promoting this show as it does with shows like Bones and Fringe. More publicity would have done the trick.
I would say I was surprised, but I’d be full of S**T. Cancel it Fox so we can stop worring. It’s going to happen no matter what. I’m still surprised as hell they ordered a full season of raising hope. Nothing short of a miracle.
I feel like I was the only one who was watching this show, let alone enjoying it! It was actually my favorite new network show this year, and I watched almost every new show this year. It’s sad that anything quirky just can’t be popular anymore.
yeah too bad, this show was great. while keri russell and the girl might not habe been the best cast choices, the show is still bery funny
That’s a shame. I liked it. It was one of the few shows that could make me literally laugh out loud. Way better than crap like… say… Two and a Half Douchebags.
Sigh.
yes, literally had me and my boyfriend laughing off the couch…. very disappointed 🙁
