It was a very positive start for the series and was the first time that the network won the timeslot (other than the Olympics) since November 2008. On the downside, a significant number of viewers stopped watching between the first and second half hours. Will this series last? We’ll have to see how well Smash performs over the next several weeks.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Smash TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I love it and looked forward to it every week. I love Broadway and am very sorry it was cancelled
I was so disappointed that this show was cancelled -it was such a great show – so much talent – maybe they will get picked up on another venue – with all the awful programming these days – it was great to have a show to watch that was rated R
I loved smash and everyone in it. What a great show. You should have left it on Monday nights. I hope it comes Back we need a show like smash. Please keep it.
Can’t believe they are cancelling such a great show! What’s the matter with you people at NBC! Maybe another network will pick up the show. Great actors, great music, great storylines! PLEASE SAVE SMASH!
I am so mad why do you need to cancel such an amazing show. It is not fair you are ruining TONS OF KIDS AND ADULTS lives
I think that it is stupid of these people to be canceling it. I am 12 years old and this is my favorite show in the whole world. I don’t think itr is fair that they are renewing it. I was hoping to see how hitlist ends as well as bombshell. But I was wishing that Smash will be on the air from 2012 to at least 2104 or 2015. I want you people to know that you just disappointing a young 12 year old girl. I admit that the 1st season was better. At first I didn’t think that… Read more »

Please check us out – we are trying to find another network, with better judgement than NBC, to pick the show up. We aren’t giving up!!
I love it and I can’t believe they are cancelling it now that it’s getting good. I agree with Mary I don’t want to see another CSI or cop show and deff not a reality show, it is so nice to have a musical T.V. show and a great talented cast. Please don’t cancel this show
One of the best shows on TV bar none. But it is no wonder that the ratings are low. You have to be a diehard fan to find it in the TV listings because NBC keeps moving the days on which it will be televised!!! It would seem that NBC powers that be need to justify cancelling the program and so move it around so viewers can’t find it and naturally, the ratings go down. NBC just seems to be the master of the bad programming decision! What’s up with that? Don’t you all like having successful programs on your… Read more »
Nooooooooooooooo! Love this series! NBC should renew this show. The cast is exceptional and a breath of fresh air to an otherwise depressing TV show lineup. If another CSI or cop show debuts, I will throw up. And how many reality shows do we really need to watch. I don’t know what households the Nielson Ratings listen to, but I just can’t believe that these households hold the opinion of the majority. KEEP THE SHOW ON!
I love Smash! I hope it is rescued and NBC can eat it’s decision! Watching the show was a bright spot in my week!
