CBS’ 2016-2017 schedule isn’t set in stone yet. Deadline reports the network is retooling their comedy pilot Superior Donuts for midseason consideration.
Based on the play by Tracy Letts, the series centers on the employees and patrons of a Chicago donut shop. The cast includes Jermaine Fowler, Maz Jobrani, and David Koechner.
CBS is apparently re-casting some of the roles in the pilot, with original star Brian d’Arcy James being replaced. Filming for the new pilot will reportedly take place this summer, and the network is considering a midseason premiere date.
What do you think? Are you familiar with the play? Would you watch Superior Donuts?
Omg!!!! I love this show and I’m so sad that it’s being canceled!!! I’ve been a loyal fan, watching it every Wednesday night. i love all the people on the show and the story line. It could go on forever and I’d still watch! Please, please bring it back! I’d watch on whatever channel it landed on!
