The Superman character has been around for more than 80 years and has inspired numerous television series. Most of them have lasted many years while others have been cancelled after a season or two. How successful will The CW’s entry be? Will Superman & Lois be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
A superhero series based on DC Comics characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the Superman & Lois TV show stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsass, Alexander Garfin, Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Wolé Parks, Adam Rayner, Dylan Walsh, and Emmanuelle Chriqui. After years of facing maniacal supervillains, monsters, and alien invaders, the world’s most famous superhero, Superman aka Clark Kent (Hoechlin), and his award-winning journalist wife, Lois Lane (Tulloch), have gotten married and are now working parents, raising two teen boys. In addition to the usual trials and tribulations of being parents, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Elsass) and Jordan (Garfin) could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Clark’s hometown of Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Chriqui), Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband, Kyle Cushing (Valdez). The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Navarrette). Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Walsh), looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

What do you think? Do you like the Superman & Lois TV series on The CW? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*3/3/21 update: Superman & Lois has been renewed for a second season.
The 6 15 21 episode of SUPERMAN & LOIS blew MY mind ! Without any warning. Didn`t know that was going to happen. Glad I was home for this.
A CW show thats not just good, its great……. Who knew?
PREFERABLY THE RATINGS WILL REBOUND IN A SINGLE BOUND
The CW has successfully done it. Destroy SUPERMAN. SOON
HOPEFULLY THE RATINGS WILL SOAR ALONG WITH SUPERMAN AND LOIS ONCE MORE.
Finally, a CW show for grown-ups, not the usual CGI battle after CGI battle with every single person on the show having super powers. Of course, alternating this with Supergirl has had a big impact on the ratings which have dropped. Networks and their long mid-season hiatus practice certainly is a reason why most shows can’t keep viewers.
At least some of the CGI is pretty good. Needs 90% less whiny teen drama, and 200% more action. Title may as well be “Teens Dominate Clueless Parents.” Producers can’t seem to decide exactly how powerful Superman is. In some scenes he comes off as surprisingly weak, compared to other scenes. If you want to watch family/teen/high school drama with 2 or 3 brief Superman action bits each episode, this show may be for you. Otherwise you could just watch the first and last 5 minutes each week and not miss much.
Another Krypton. I’m out.
I am enjoying this show
Meh! Not a fan of Tulloch. And what’s with Supes 5 o’clock shadow? Plot line is weak. Hard to believe General Lane would believe…after 14 years…his son-in-law is a threat.
Ever heard of red kryptonie? If you did then you know the effect it has on Superman. Wouldn’t you want to be prepared for something like that? Even Batman sees the threat Superman poses.
The latest episode (episode 3) worried me a little. I think this show has the potential to be great but is slowly heading towards falling off a cliff. This was almost too much the same old CW superhero formula. Opened with a heroic act, not much in terms of caped heroics thereafter, in fact not a lot happened in terms of overall plot, and then in the last 30 seconds you get the “hook” which is supposed to bring you back for the next episode. The first 2 episodes were pretty good, this one may be more revealing as to… Read more »
Ratings are down but its pulling in some heavy streaming numbers.
No threat to reruns of the original Superman
You mean the one where no under 60 watches and no one under 40 has even heard of it?
I like this show so far! Hopefully when people see this isn’t a “woke” disaster, they will get a ton of viewers.
Demo is ok, overall viewers not good. Maybe it will improve after the adjustment. However it might be time for CW to move on from the DC material. Batwoman collapse has been pretty embarrassing, if this series goes the same way I don’t see how viable it would be to keep producing these shows.
I found the casting choices for the lead roles to be a bit bizarre.
Supe’s plastic muscles are hilarious.
Lois being called “the best journalist in the world” is laughable.
But, despite all this, the show seems to have some heart.
I think I’ll continue to watch this very different take on the canon.
For now.
Agree…
“Lois being called “the best journalist in the world” is laughable.”
why not? she was always one of the best on comics, even won pulitzer. You talk about canon but know nothing about
the fake muscles are terrible on Hoechlin
