After a disappointing run, ABC has decided to prematurely end the forgotten’s freshman season. Is the Christian Slater TV show being cancelled?
Airing on ABC, the forgotten follows a group of talented civilians who work together to find missing persons once the police have reached a dead end. The series features the talents of Slater, Michelle Borth, Heather Stephens, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Anthony Carrigan, Judith Hoag, and Lily Rains.
The show debuted on September 22nd and attracted a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.54 million viewers. It lost a large percentage of its lead-in and 12% tuned out before the episode was over. The second installment of the forgotten fell significantly and the rest of the season has been averaging just a 1.7 rating 6.49 million viewers.
Last week, ABC announced that they were preempting the March 16th installment of the forgotten in favor of a FlashForward recap show. Now, they’re pulling the March 23rd episode as well. Next week’s installment, “Donovan Doe,” is the episode that was originally scheduled for the 23rd and may well wrap up the season.
Considering the poor ratings, the series is very likely to be cancelled and won’t be back for season two. It also doesn’t seem likely that they’ll get around to airing the remaining two episodes anytime soon, if at all.
What do you think? Should ABC find a way to air the remaining two episodes? Should the series be cancelled? Where did the forgotten go wrong?

i love this show it shouldnt be cancelled at all
Keep it..Love the show!!!
Plz do not cancel the Forgotten me and my daughter couldnt wait for Tuesdays so we cold spend some good mom and daughter time together and watching this show was how we did it.
I love this show!!!! It should not be cancelled!!!!!!
Considering the low rating garbage that ABC puts out like retread V-series a update of the failure years ago on NBC., it is a shame that the Forgotten was gutted so quickly by ABC. Now you know why ABC is third or fourth of the big Four networks. I liked the Forgotten series it was a decent combination show with missing persons and cold case mixed in with a decent police show ensemble cast.Boy it was a shame that ABC gave it little chance with constant premptions by other failed shows ( V & flash Forward) in its place. It… Read more »
Stop cancelling good shows! Not eveyone like the fake reality shows. I watch tv to be entertained, and this show is very entertaining. It makes you think. Maybe that’s the problem? ABC pulls a good show because it isn’t mind numbing and it makes you try and figure things out.
Leave The Forgotton on the air!
The Forgotten was one of our favorite shows. The Forgotten was the only good evening show on ABC other than Castle which is another of our favorite shows. The content was good and for the most part morally acceptable compaired to other shows airing on prime time TV. The writting and acting were well done. Very sorry to see it go.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER WATCHED
The Forgotten is an excellent show, it would be a shame if ABC cancelled yet another good show in favor or WHAT!
The Forgotten should offer their show to a cable network. USA, TNT, FX and TBS have the networks beat with original programming. Save this show . It is an original and has an outstanding cast.
As one of the shows I normally watch as part of my Tuesday night lineup, I hope The Forgotten is not going to be cancelled. It is finally nice to see real TV making a comeback. We have been so overrun with reality TV that there isn’t anything to keep our attention anymore until shows like NCIS, NCIS:LA, The Forgotten, CSI:NY, and Criminal Minds came along. Maybe the producers of The Forgotten will shop the show to CBS. They seem to have the best in TV these days.
my husband and i love the forgotten and can’t believe it’s canceled. this is truly a very interesting show but needs an earlier time slot. it’s too bad “garbage” shows stay alive.
Please keep on “the Forgotten”! It is actually a really good show!! Give it some time!!
P L E A S E – Save us from all the reality shows. LEAVE us a good one. With so many other shows being cancelled, we need to keep a few for those of us that DO NOT watch the reality shows, to have something decent to watch.
I love the Forgiven and Christian Slater. Please don’t take it off. Maybe a different time slot.
