In May, FOX debuted their new action-comedy, The Good Guys. The cop show stars Bradley Whitford, Colin Hanks, Diana-Maria Riva, and Jenny Wade.
The network had so much faith in the show that they ordered seven additional episodes before the series even premiered and also gave it a slot on the fall schedule. Unfortunately, the TV show hasn’t caught on and looks to have a real uphill battle if The Good Guys is going to survive long enough to be renewed for season two.
FOX recently decided to pull the show from the summer schedule a little early but is still slated to air on Friday nights this fall.
As a result of the show’s rating challenges, The Good Guys is undergoing some adjustments. According to Deadline, FOX wants to focus on attracting more young female viewers.
To do that, there will be more emphasis placed on the romantic relationships and a young female CSI specialist could become a regular character. In addition, Julius (RonReaco Lee), the bumbling criminal, will appear in more episodes.
There are 11 original episodes left and they’ll start airing on Friday, September 24th.
What do you think? Will The Good Guys last long enough to see a second season or is it headed for cancellation?

“According to Deadline, FOX wants to focus on attracting more young female viewers.” (You can’t be serious…that TV executives can’t figure this out….?) Let’s be realistic… ‘young females’ themselves (in their mind) ARE THEIR OWN ‘drama show’ and/or “reality” show, so there is NO market OF them. In their minds, they are concerned about THEIR OWN “ratings” (or ‘attention’…same thing)….NOT the other way around (in other words, they don’t care about your “attention”…or that it even exists). Simple fact…GOOD GUYS is the best commercial show since CAVEMEN was dropped(talk about a tragic loss.) You have “commedy” (guys)…you have “drama” (girls)….get… Read more »

My husband and I love The Good Guys – we’re delighted in will be on again in the fall and hope it goes for many seasons. It is hilarious!
We’re Seniors and love the Good Guys. Got tired of the lousy choices at the video store and decided to try several sitcoms. Thanks goodness Good Guys came along about that time and we’re hooked. It’s funny, exciting, and just very enjoyable. Sure hope it catches on and will be on for a long time.
I don’t know what the problem is with the US TV watching public, it is a querky, funny programme, sometime a bit cringe worthy sometimes, but absolutley great. Leave it be, there’s nothing wrong with it.
This show is hyterical. Never miss it but miss it now that Fox has stopped it til September. & you’re going to put it up against Monday Night Football! Brilliant as usual! Put it on another night and you’ll have a smash hit!
I’m not a younger viewer but my wife and I think this is the most hilarious show on TV. We don’t miss it if at all possible. Please keep it on!
We found it by accident and were rolling on the floor laughing before it was over. Maybe because it was about the Dallas police. :>) I wonder what they (Dallas police) think of it.
The Good Guys was my favorite show until it ended. I like the characters and their interaction. It is a funny show and I think it could thrive in the right time spot. I hope it does not get cancelled. It is refreshing after all of the fake “realty” shows that are on.

This show is so funny! It is unlike any other cop show on TV. Don’t cancel it. If it has had a viewing problem it is only because of the time slot/day of the week. I record every episode so I don’t miss it.
Fox has a history of pulling plugs. Congrats FOX. I don’t really watch tv all too much, but I’ve caught up on all of the episodes via hulu.com. It’s hilarious. Dan is “that dude.” His character is hands down one of the funniest fictional characters in the past 10 years. Fox, you give up on this show I give up on you. Good day.
I LOVE this show!!!! How does Fox expect anything to catch on in the dead of summer when people are out late and or on vacation???????
This show is great. The powers that be NEVER give the new shows a chance to prove themselves. They are creating a pattern of give a try then give up. I hope they keep this show it is fun and not a reality show. I have enough reality at home.
Hey, I’m a young female viewer (almost 17). The Good Guys is probably my #3 favorite show at the moment, and I haven’t missed an episode yet. I personally love the not-chronological order of the scenes, and the feel of the characters and show in general. Saying that it is only for guys is really underestimating the series.
I mean the Good Guys Rocks*
i luv this show! hopefully fox gives it a chance!
