Last week, FOX gave viewers a sneak preview of one of their new series — The Good Guys. The TV show is set for a summer run and already has a spot on the network’s fall schedule. Will it last that long?
The Good Guys is an action comedy that pairs a washed-up, old-school cop (Bradley Whitford) with a young, by-the-book detective (Colin Hanks). Others in the series include Jenny Wade, Diana-Maria Riva, Jennifer Besser, Kimberly Lynn Campbell, Kennith Edwards, Nathan Fane, and Arthur Wooldridge.
Last Wednesday’s premiere attracted a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.93 million viewers. That put the TV show’s debut in fourth place in total viewership and tied for third in the coveted demographic with NBC’s Minute to Win It.

That’s hardly a great start and doesn’t bode well for the series’ future. Ratings typically drop lower for a show’s second episode and Good Guys doesn’t exactly have any to spare.
The network isn’t giving up though and has scheduled extra chances to see the pilot by re-airing it this Friday (May 28th) and again on Monday, May 31st. The Good Guys’ regular season will then begin on Monday, June 7th.
Based on the early ratings, one could expect that the series would have a quiet summer run and then be gone. However, FOX had such faith in the series that they gave it a spot on the fall schedule, following Human Target on Friday nights.
Ratings expectations are lower for summers and Friday nights. However, it seems highly unlikely that, unless viewership improves, the show will last beyond the first season.

FOX has shown some common sense finally by bringing back Human Target, show some more and keep The Good Guys. I have never been more entertained by a police show! Dan Stark is the MAN!
I really hope they don’t cancel this show. It’s one of my favorites and a great show to spend an hour watching with my dad.

I think FOX wants Good Guys to die because they stuck it on late on Friday nights. I love this show. To me its the best new thing FOX has had since the opening of Prison Break. Everything FOX puts on Friday nights dies. People go out on the weekends not sit at home and watch tv. Its unfortunate that they want it to fail because its one of the best things on TV. We as viewers need to fight for another season. Put it back on Mondays or any other spot through the week. This Show Is Great!!!!!!!!!!
We love Good Guys — don’t kill it. We haven’t missed an episode. It’s definitely worth keeping.
I am very disappointed that Good Guys is up for cancelation. This is a series that has developed into a winner. Fox has been know for giving series time to develop a following. I hate to think they are joining the ranks of the big 3 . I hope they will reconsider.

My Grandparents and me love this show. Dan is a great ole by the books cop and Dan
is just the opposite by being the young by the book cop. The contrast is perfect. We
watch it every Friday night. Please do not cancel this series.

If you’re foolish enough to pull a Arrested Development please sell the rights to HBO.
This show would be even better if Dan could speak more freely.
Arrested Development was before its time and so is The Good Guys, yet Survivor and Jersey Shore are going strong. PLEASE don’t kill The Good Guys. PLEASE sell it to a premium channel if you’re going to ditch it.

The next Dec episode a week from today is being called “Finale” – hoping very much its just a season finale or pause before another season in spring or summer.
I LOVE The Good Guys, I used to watch it on Mondays and now that its moved on Fridays i STILL watch it. I got my mom into watching it and I call my sister to talk about how funny it is. The characters are amazing, they both play off each other perfectly. You cant get a better character than Dan Stark and Colin Hanks’ character keeps him in check as best he can. its just an amazing show that I havent missed ONCE its great and needs to stay on FOX
