ABC has ordered The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport TV show to series, but will give it a new title. For now, the comedy is being referred to as “Untitled Sarah Dunn.” UPDATE: ABC has retitled the show American Housewife.
The new series stars Mike & Molly‘s Katy Mixon as Katie Otto, who the network describes as a confident, unapologetic, plump wife and mother of three. Diedrich Bader has been cast as Jeff Otto. Johnny Sequoyah will play Taylor. Daniel DiMaggio is Harrison. Julia Butters is Anna-Kat. Carly Hughes plays Angela. Ali Wong has been cast in the role of Doris.
Katie Otto is raising her raises her flawed family in Westport, Connecticut. The wealthy town is full of “perfect” mommies and their “perfect” kids. ABC says Katie lets the audience in on her deepest, most unfiltered thoughts through voiceover, as the she lives her life as the second fattest housewife in Westport.
The Untitled Sarah Dunn comedy is written by Spin City and Bunheads‘ Sarah Dunn. The show is produced by Kapital Entertainment and ABC Studios. Aaron Kaplan, Rick Weiner, and Kenny Schwartz are executive producing along with director Ruben Fleischer.
