Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

I just watched the 3 seasons of Tyrant on Hulu and I fell in love with all the characters and their storyline. I was thinking that it had to have a finale at least, and now, I find out no 4th Season?? What a great disappointment! It has to happen to tie up all of mayhem and election drama. People cannot die off in every episode either.
I JUST found the tyrant series on hulu. I slammed all series straight down. I couldnt stop! PLEASE make at least a 4th series!!!
There MUST be a season 4. Not fair to viewers.
It does not make sense to end the series in season 3 while there is so much unfinished business in the movie. We didn’t even know if Bassam would be deposed by General Maluf or the elections will hold or not.
If you need advice on how the season 4 should look like, I am very much available.
I’m disappointed. A season 4 for this series will do a lot of good. I’m so in love with the story and all the characters are doing great. Please we need a season 4

I would have never started watching this excellent show if I had known it would be so ungracefully ended, with so many unresolved storylines. Boo.
Definitely need a season 4. If I had known there was not a season 4, perhaps I would of stopped watching season 3. Cliffhangers are not good. I am really pissed off
Love this show . So disappointed there is no season 4. Great cast and story lines. Hopefully it will get picked up again
