Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

It’s a great show with a good story line it should be brought back
I think this show deserves to be back on the air. It’s the best show on right now other than the Exorcist. It’s riveting and the acting is top notch. Please bring it back. It was better than AHS season 6.
I have to admit bitterly, that the problem is not the series itself, but the audience which could not see the wonderful plot, prospective insight and good play. Thank you for this series and please, give season 4 a chance! Among shallow shows such series are essential for thinking fans!

Absolutely, Tyrant tells a real and contemporary story that xrays the socio-political/religious dynamics that plays in the seats of power. It’s bold and daring! Rather than discontinuing and shopping for replacement that isnt likely to to do better, please work on improving viewership.
Tyrant definitely should have another season. This story is like a Shakespeare tragedy set in the middle east. It provides a perspective that we, as Americans, don’t get otherwise plus it has everything a greal storyline needs. Please bring it back!

Would luv more seasons was really a great show
Absolutely want another season, and probably 3 or 4 seasons after that. There are far too many characters who would be interesting as hell to see fleshed out. I hope another network comes to FX’s senses.
Please reconsider and bring season 4. This show is excellent and has no comparison; not even close! It must be very difficult to calculate viewership especially now that the public tend to record and view later.
Of course renew this show .Great plot and actors.
