The Vampire Diaries TV series finale, which airs on The CW, Friday, March 10th, will be delayed by one hour. While the series usually airs at 8:00pm ET/PT, the network will first air a special one hour retrospective, The Vampire Diaries: “Forever Yours.”
The CW says, “‘Forever Yours’ will be a treat for TVD fans, as we go back to re-live the past 8 seasons and say good-bye to this beloved show.” From Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, The Vampire Diaries stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Matthew Davis, and Michael Malarkey. Currently, it is unclear whether original star Nina Dobrev will return for the finale, and if so, how involved she will be.
According to The CW, both episodes will re-run on a special night, Thursday, March 16, with the times flipped.

How could you end this show !!!!!!! This is terrible new so mad and upset !!!!! I hate you all for ending Thisbe !!!!
YES, I WILL BE WATCHING.
I hate to see this ending, it is missing the main person Elaina, but they have managed to keep up a good story. I love Stephen and Damon more than anyone and they can keep the show up. I am sadden by this news. I just hope they end it well and not to where you are missing something.
I’m sorry to see The Vampire Diaries cancelled! I’ve watched this series from the beginning, and it’s one of very few shows that I will miss seeing!
I am truly saddened that TVD is coming to it’s end and I will miss Damon, Stefan, Bonnie Elena and all the cast. With that being said the only way I will be missing The Vampire Diaries is if something truly horrible happens and between my dvr and CW app. I truly doubt I’ll be missing my favorite series. All jokes aside I thank CW, Julie Plec, and their amazing cast and crew for being apart of my life all these years. ❤
Gratefully

They need to air an episode showing how things could have been written better.
