TV show description:
This single-camera comedy is based on the feature film of the same name. It follows a hot, fearless, and unapologetic former trophy wife who masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her penniless.

Dumped, divorced and broke (due to a bad pre-nuptial agreement), Meredith Davis (Ari Graynor) is inspired by her friend’s smart, awkward stepdaughter, Lily (Sara Rodier). Meredith devises the perfect 3-step plan: pose as a teacher at Lily’s ritzy middle school; meet and marry a rich single dad; and return to a lavish lifestyle.

Using a phony resume, quick thinking Meredith effortlessly charms Principal Carl Gaines (David Alan Grier) who is oblivious to her agenda.

The faculty includes gym teacher Joel Kotsky (Ryan Hansen). He’s her handsome former high school classmate who sees right through Meridith’s antics but is amused anyway.

Shy Irene (Sara Gilbert) is an introverted teacher who’s overly excited at the possibility of making a best friend in Meredith. Uptight Ginny Taylor-Clapp (Kristin Davis) is Faculty President and a busybody who resents Meredith and suspects she’s not who she seems to be.

Series Finale:
Episode #13 — What’s Old Is New
Staff and students are all focused on standardized test day when Meredith and Principal Carl’s attentions are diverted by the arrival of their ex-spouses, making them question whether they want second chances with their former loves.
First aired: July 26, 2014.

defiantly think there should be a another season, because its annoying to leaving an episode like that, almost like a midseason episode and I love the cast

Wow…..I think there is a problem, with the networks, to change the subject Manhattan Love Story also got cancelled by ABC in just four episodes. Network executives really need to kill the bugs crawling on their cancellation buttons. This is getting to be a problem, not giving shows a time to grow. OMG!!!!!

I loved this show! I actually liked it more than the movie. It was nice to have something different to watch for a change, loved the comedy of it. Very disappointed that it has been cancelled.

  3. Sandars says

Why. What am I suppose to do with that cliffhanger of an ending. Is she staying with her ex or what about Joel? And uh, who doesn’t love Carl? Very disappointed that this was cancelled. Ugh.

I guess we have to watch the same shows, that keep getting renewed and renewed again and again. CBS is getting boring….zzzzzzzzzzz. Person of interest is designed to make us paranoid.

This show was terrible…. I couldn’t even sit through a whole episode. It was contrived and made women look terrible. Not to mention the lead actress was completely miscast…I wish they had cast someone that looked more like Cameron Diaz!!
    Glad it got cancelled, sorry.

The first few episodes I saw it being cancelled, but recently it has become great, and I’m sad that it has been cancelled. The final episode is a terrible ending, bring it back for another season.
