TV show description:
This multi-camera comedy follows the chaotic life of a fictional version of George Lopez. He’s a recently divorced working-class Mexican-American turned successful entrepreneur who’s caught between two cultures.

George struggles to balance the parenting demands of his All-American Anglo ex-wife, Mackenzie (Jenn Lyon), and the cultural expectations of his overbearing Mexican-American mother, Alma Lopez (Olga Merediz).

As George attempts to relate to his 11-year-old son, Harper (Kaden Gibson), his life is further complicated by his fun-loving but freeloading uncle Tio Danny (Danny Trejo) and cousin Junior (David Zayas).

As a wealthy businessman, George also gives back by teaching history to a multi-cultural classroom at a night school in downtown Los Angeles, where he’s supervised by tough and sexy Assistant Principal Concepcion (Diana-Maria Riva).

It should definitely get another chance but….. the ONLY reason I can think of that the show might not have been as successful as his other show is because of the lady who plays his mom (let’s face it, she’s no Bennie) and the lady who plays his ex (she is definitely no Angie)!!!! They just are NOT FUNNY like the ladies who came on with him on his other show!!!! I think for Saint George to succeed and be a great show those women will need to be REPLACED by waaaay BETTER AND FUNNIER actresses!!!!!

I loved the show, I wish they would have given it another season, most folks weren’t aware George had another show, more promotion would have helped. Fx may do well with another season, good day,

Renewed, its funny how all his shows were cancelled considering they were funny. I don’t know I don’t want to believe it’s a race thing but whatever

The show is trying to be two thing at once. Although the actress playing George’s ex wife is talented the show would be better without her. The show is really about George becoming successful and accepted by mainstream (anglo) society while being authentic and true to his roots. Keep the son. He represents what it means to be Mexican or Hispanic. Not all Mexicans or Hispanics are dark with black hair.
