The Good Guys: Petition to Save the FOX TV Show from Being Cancelled

The Good GuysThese two very different cops have come up against some very unusual cases. Unfortunately, their TV show is having the same old problem. It’s not performing well in the ratings and there’s a very real possibility that it will be cancelled.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for FOX is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, it’s not.

However, if you like The Good Guys and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

  1. If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on FOX.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be directly counted. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
  1. Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
  1. Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
  1. Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can e-mail or, even better, write via “snail-mail” to: Mr. Kevin Reilly, President, FOX, P.O. Box 900, Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900, RE: The Good Guys
  1. Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

We, the undersigned, greatly enjoy watching The Good Guys on the FOX network. The actors, writers, and everyone associated with the TV show are top notch. They do a great job of creating a cop show with clever humor.

Please find a way to keep The Good Guys on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on FOX or, if necessary, on another channel.

    Please bring the show back!!! I had never even heard about it until it was released on Netflix and it is by far my favorite show right now!! Now a days people don't catch to many shows on tv because they're too busy watching movie channels or Netflix. But if more people started to watch this show I know it could get popular! I don't normally get into cop tv shows but the action mixed in with the comedy and the building chemistry between the characters as the episodes progress make it hard not to fall in love with the characters and invest in their story. Those are some of the main aspects that make this show as brilliant as it is. I practically watch over half of the season in one sitting and after I finished the season I was very sad to find out that the show had been cancelled. So please bring the show back guys!! All my friends who I've shown this show to love it and would watch all the episodes if there was more than one season. I really feel like if you give this show one last chance at a season people could really start enjoying it because nobody wants to watch just one season of a show. They feel like its a waste of time to invest in the story to have it cut off after just 20 episodes but if there were multiple seasons the show would be more appealing to the public.

    What a great show, re-watching on net-flixs reminded me what a great funny show this is. Still better than most of whats on now. It's not like FOX has any good programming. Please bring this one back. Good fun, great writing and casting, doesn't come along too often.

    DEAR FOX FOLKS! My husband and I (as well as my 83 year old mother) all *LOVE* "The Good Guys", and it's beyond our comprehension WHY in the WORLD it was ever discontinued!!! It was one of the few intelligent, funny, and *unique* cop shows out there. It was heads above all the rest of them - put together. We loved the interaction between Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks, not to mention all the other supporting characters. We can't understand why the ratings were said to be so low, but maybe there wasn't enough PR for the program...and apparently it had an unfavorable time slot as well, from what we recall. PLEASE consider giving this wonderful, feel-good show another chance...and not just the re-runs, please. Bring the cast back together and really ramp up the PR this time...and a better time slot! We love it!!!! Thanks for your consideration!

    I watched this when it first aired and I've been watching it by streaming now and I wish there were more episodes, a really great show!! not sure why some other shows go on for season after season when this shows is better then most shows I've seen

    Bring back The Good Guys! It was a fantasic, well put together show. Great villains, Jack & Liz have chemistry, and I could watch Dan Stark's antics all day.

    I just discovered "The Good Guys" through Netflix and, I have to say, I wish I would have known about this show when it was first airing. The stories are fun, fresh, and like nothing else on television. Please bring this awesome show back!

    The Good Guys is the best show ever made and you should see the netflix viewings on it and should really consider bringing it back but advertising it better.

    Why cant you guys leave the good shows alone and get rid of the other lame poinless shows such as reality type shows… love “The Good Guys” it is a very funny show and great show to work on witch I have… Thanks and Please keep all of us Texas actors workng!!!!
