24: Legacy has its new Jack Bauer. Deadline reports that FOX has cast Corey Hawkins as the new lead in their 24 series reboot.
Last week, we reported that the new series would feature an all-new cast and story. Original 24 star Kiefer Sutherland recently stated he’d be open to making an appearance, but as of now he is not involved in the new series.
From 24 alums Manny Coto and Evan Katz, the new series will feature Hawkins as Eric Carter, a military hero who returns from action only to find himself asking the CTU (counter-terrorism unit) for help in “stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.”
Deadline also reports the new series will feature a strong female lead opposite Hawkins. There may also be some mention and crossover from the original 24 series.
Hawkins most recently played Dr. Dre in the critically acclaimed film Straight Outta Compton.
What do you think? Will you watch the new 24 series even without Jack Bauer?
from what I saw in the tv guide write up..NO THANK YOU…why ruin 24 by doing this…if you want to make a program on the same line that is one thing but do not desecrate Jack’s memory and the program 24 by doing this…drop the clock and just make a weekly program..DO NOT MAKE IT 24 ..no way without keifer
Ummmmm? I’m sorry but no Keifer Sutherland…….NO 24!!! Seriously just name it something else if you want Corey Hawkins. Jack Bauer makes 24……NOT Black Bauer. I’ve been a huge fan from the very beginning. I’m not racist but come on people, WTF?!! Get with the program. Smfh!!!
Absolutely …just do not try to change the program AT ALL..I am not racist either but anyone would NOT do to take Keifers place..NO NO NO
Ummm, by having to state that you are not a racists…….
We want keifer Sutherland back not Corey Hawkins he was unfit for black hero we want jack Bauer NOW or else we want 24 episode on Fox please that all
Sooooo… Even though Keifer is exec producer the show as a whole is dismissed?
Also, by mere fact that the lead character’s skin tone is expressly noted that means the show is not worth watching? Would you feel better if the lead character’s race and gender were more to your paradigm, then the show would be worth a watch? Just asking.
No I don’t think so absolutely not he cannot replace Sutherland on Fox that is the problem
What How outrageous I’m not happy with you moron we want keifer and order blame dana Walden fault she was one and we want 24 episode on Fox now not one episode it will be too late the fan of keifer Sutherland will be upset good
