Jane Lynch has had successful runs on Hollywood Game Night and Glee but the same can’t be said for her Angel from Hell sitcom. The CBS TV series has been cancelled after just five episodes reports Deadline. There won’t be a second season and, at this point, it’s unknown if the remaining first season episodes will even air.
Angel From Hell follows what happens when eccentric Amy (Lynch) — a bold, larger-than life woman who claims to be a guardian angel — starts messing with the life of dermatologist Doctor Allison Fuller (Maggie Lawson). Kevin Pollak, and Kyle Bornheimer round out the cast.
The sitcom was initially slated to start airing last November but its debut was delayed until January. The premiere drew a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.13 million viewers. The ratings quickly fell to a 1.3 in the demo with fewer than six million viewers. Word is that there’s also been creative issues behind-the-scenes.
Angel from Hell has been pulled from the schedule and will be replaced by a rerun of The Big Bang Theory this Thursday. Starting next week, 2 Broke Girls will replace the series in the 9:30pm timeslot.
What do you think? Do you like the Angel from Hell TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled? Would you watch the remaining eight installments?
What happened? Just when the show looked like it was hitting its stride it gets cancelled. Too bad. The banter between the characters was funny and kept me wanting more. Granted the premise of the show was off beat but that’s its charm, it’s what made it intriguing. I was glad that the writing wasn’t sub par or cheesy; it’s what kept me coming back to see the next episode. I was looking forward to seeing the whole season. CBS looking at their bottom line, must have decided to play it safe.
I liked Angel from Hell. I made a point of watching the clock to change channels so
I could watch it. I guess I will keep watching HGTV. Sorry CBS.
I really liked Angel from Hell and have missed it. It was a fun show. We need more fun in our lives. I would watch the remaining shows for sure. I love it.
I agree With all who said Two Broke girls is a stupid show. Ugh! I like the Angel show up to a point. Jane Lynch for once was not funny. She needed to be toned down to let the other actors be funny. Great cast though. Too sad it as cancelled.
I loved this show, sour grapes to those who pulled it, the tv is now off from that hour on!
I really liked this show and was wondering why my TV Guide app. showed it was on last week and it wasn’t. I turned the TV off. I looked this week, gone! I then found this article. I have watched every episode, looked forward to more and every character involved has made me laugh. I am sad to see it go.
I really liked that show and was wondering why my TV Guide app. said it was going to be on last week and it wasn’t. I turned off the TV. I checked this week, gone! I then found this article. I made sure to watch each episode, looked forward to it & everyone involved made me laugh. I am sad to see it go.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this show. We are not pleased that it has been pulled. We’re hoping that some other network will pick it up. We’ll never watch 2 Broke Girls; it’s moronic and gross! I,too, believe stations should give new shows at least a full season or two to find their following. Pulling this show after 5 episodes is ridiculous.
It’s a great show! Please air the remaining episodes… Jayne Lynch is hysterically funny! Something I would definitely continue to watch.
Wow, a show I enjoyed watching with my mom. You will cancel something like this and keep all the shows with violence and sex scenes (which do not need to be shown as people can have an imagination), i.e., Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Shades of Blue etc. I would like to see at least the remaining shows if you will not renew it.
I can’t believe it got pulled after 5 shows. Most people don’t find good shows till 2nd season (unless very well plugged)… and over advertising kills shows just as fast, as they rarely live up to the hype. Re-runs of Big Bang Theory?? Really CBS, thats the best you can do?? If i wanted to watch re-runs i’d watch re-runs. Netflix, Amazon prime, Apple Tv and probably 30 other streaming services offer re-runs. The viewing public rely’s on networks and capitol from networks to pay and produce NEW shows, which then generate capitol for more new shows… see the pattern??… Read more »
Poor Kyle Bornheimer. That guy just can’t catch a break. Every show he’s been in has been cancelled, and he’s really quite funny. And poor Kevin Pollack, who I adore. They killed him off Mom, only to kill his new show, too. And the worst insult of all, being replaced by the excrebal Broke Girls. Stupid and sad.
2 Broke girls should have been canceled after 5 episodes… this show deserves 3+ seasons… and i definitely wanna see the end of season 1. Anyone else disappointed there is no season 2 of your family or mine?
Cancelled after 5 episodes. Give me a break! Why are the watching habits of the 50+ age group disregarded? We watch more TV and have more money!
It figures. A new comedy comes along, I really enjoy it, it makes me laugh..and, sure enough it will get cancelled. Why? Goodness only knows, but I wish it would stay. There is so little that is really funny on television these days…so, someone out there in tv world , obviously, has no funnybone…..aaaarrrrgh.
