As TV fans are well aware, legendary TV producer and writer Stephen J. Cannell passed away last week at the age of 69.
Not only was he responsible for creating or co-creating such shows as The Rockford Files, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Wiseguy, 21 Jump Street, Silk Stalkings, and The Commish, but he also occasionally appeared on-screen as a performer. Most recently, he’s played himself on Castle.
The ABC show paid tribute to Cannell on Monday night and, quite appropriately, used footage from his production company tag that always appeared at the end of his shows.
Here’s a look at the evolution of Cannell’s logo through the years, followed by the lovely tribute. Notice, Cannell may have aged and his office may have changed but his typewriter never did.
