Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I’m truly saddened and disappointed that Cedar Cove was canceled. Love the scenery and the fact that it took you out of reality in a quirky way. Even my cranky husband would watch it with me every week. You dumb fools at hallmark don’t realize what a gem that show was. Loved it. Loved the characters and the story line. Boo hoo. I’m mad. Wish you would bring it back to at least answer the questions that were left. Pretty sad there are hardly any clean shows to watch anymore.
The first episodes aired on both Saturday and Sunday night giving more opportunities to watch it. As it was with one episode only we had to record it, which meant we skipped the commercials. Since that’s what pays, maybe they should go back to playing it multiple time a week to get more live viewers.
Love Cedar Cove. Beautiful background. Very unhappy that show was cancelled without storylines being brought to closure.
that is too bad. With all the junk and violence on TV it was a nice way to end the weekend and ready for the new week. I think they should have given it one more season to tie up loose ends. I don’t think Hallmark promoted it much either.
Disappointed. Looking forward to season 4. Great cast. Beautiful location — maybe a periodic movie then?
Sorry to see this was cancelled. I enjoyed the series.
I loved the show and anxiously awaited each episode I would love to see a special with same actors that ties up loose ends
So disappointed! This was one of the few shows we looked forward to each week.
I loved this series and was looking forward to it coming back. I’m so disappointed.
I just found out Cedar Crest be was cancelled. I was unable to watch the series when it started because my cable provider AT&T did not carry it. While in Jordan while my husband was on fellowship, I watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix and loved it. When I went home, I was able to watch Season 3 on AT&T because they now carry Hallmark Channel. I rarely watch the hallmark Channel except for Cedar Cove. I’m back in Jordan and decided to check on what was happening with the new season and am bitterly disappointed. I wish Netflix… Read more »
I am currently watching Season 3 and will finish soon. What a shame as one stated below that I will be left with questions. I guess I will try and pick up the books and find out my endings. Maybe a movie to finish it all up, like they did the Bridge. Something to think about.
It would be nice to see a movie wrap it all up. Very sad to see it end!
I am so disappointed that you cancelled Cedar Cove. I hope you will consider and bring it back and finish it up. I watched it every week it was on.
Our household was looking forward to season four and are terribly disappointed there won’t be one! Any chance that Hallmark would reconsider?
Totally disappointed. Here I was thinking season 4 was simply delayed for some reason. There aren’t that many clean shows to begin with on TV, thought I could count on Hallmark to stay in the game with this one.
