Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I have truly enjoyed watching the Cedar Cove series. And very disappointed that you canceled the series and left us hanging.
The show inspired me to read the books, but I was disappointed to find out that you didn’t complete the series & ended abruptly with “The Final Season”. If you knew that you were going to cancel the show, you should have done a better job of wrapping it up.
I would very much see the Cedar Cover series return to TV.
Cedar Cove was one of the best Hallmark series! Much better than Chesapeake Bay!! It needs to come back or another station should take it over!!!! Really missed by all!!!
Really, every time I like a show this happens…..
I just finished watching Cedar Cove on Netflix, I can’t believe you left us hanging. I suppose this will be my last Hallmark series. The Hallmark reputation has hit rock bottom, apparently a special finale is out of the question. I will pass on to friends not to watch on Netflix.
Pleeeeeeeeeease do another season or final show so we can see who Olivia chooses!!!

I really loved this show. They always take the good ones off and leave the awful shows to run on.
I just read a few pages of comments and it seems that the vote is in. Everyone liked Ceder Cove and there is quite a bit of resentment for leaving the public hanging. What ever you may have gained by the cancellation of the show you have probably lost in viewer approval of the Hallmark channel. Why don’t you pay attention to your viewers suggestions and do a two hour show that would actually bring some closure to this wonderful series? It’s not too late!
I kept waiting for the fourth season and then finally realized it wasn’t going to happen. I hate cliff hangers! I wish Ceder Cove would return and we would see a romance with Olivia and her exiting District Attorney.
I was really disappointed to learn that there will not be a season 4 for Cedar Cove. I am a loyal reader of Debbie Macomber’s books and to be able to watch her ideas come to life, to be able to put faces with the characters was a real treat. Maybe a limited episode, 4th season, to leave us all with a happy heart.
At least do a movie finale for closure.
My husband and I really miss Cedar Cove. Not much choice on tv anymore of decent series to look forward to each week. We had kept the show set to record hoping it would return☹️ Please reconsider Hallmark…bring Cedar Cove back
They should at least do a follow up 2 hour movie to tie up the story lines for the fans.
