Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I hope we get to enjoy a season Four. I personally would like to see Jack and Alex end up together, and Olivia and Paul together. They seem to have more in common and are so comfortable with each other. However, I’d be happy to be surprised by any outcome. The cast poured themselves into this series, and many viewers made a connection with them. It seems unfair to not let the cast complete what they started and go out on the high note. Even a two hour season finale would give closure. This is like listening to a song… Read more »
I enjoyed the show very much and was hopeful it would continue. Would love to see it return. Felt like we never received an ending or a conclusion. We were left with the unanswered questions. But that’s the way it works I guess. I love the Hallmark Channel. Many great shows and movies.
I am very disappointed that cedar cove will not be producing a season 4. They could not have ended this wonderful “comfort” series so drastically. Make us viewers happy and end the story. Olivia and Jack need to end together, they’ve been through so much together, and that’s true love, commitment, compromise and life. Make it happen
I am shocked and appalled that Cedar Cove was cancelled, while that God awful show “When Calls the Heart ” is still annoyingly on. I must confess however, my main reason for watching was neither the story nor the characters, but because of only one cast member: Bruce Boxleitner. Even all of these years after The Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Bruce is still just as dreamy as ever. I hope he gets a starring role in another series, and more Hallmark movies, or any movies, for that matter. I miss him.
I really enjoyed Cedar Cove and I’m disappointed there won’t be a season 4. It ended with so may unanswered questions. Please bring it back!
I liked the cedar cove series very much. I was very disappointed when it ended. if they were going to ended they should have continued a little longer and give it a ending. I don’t like when a series is ended with lots of questions and guessing games. That is the reason that I don’t watch anymore series because of this.
I am so disappointed with Hallmark for canceling Cedar Cove!! There were many more questions than answers in the last show. It was well done and the characters were real. It had a little of everything in it without it being sleazy or ridiculous. Every time I find a show I like it gets cancelled. It’s weird that Hallmark will show reruns that are meh but s quality show gets cancelled. Sad.
My husband and I Recently got Netflix on our TV and watched all three seasons. The third ended with many questions. I can’t believe Hallmark would do this. Your viewers were treated unfairly dropping the 4th season!! You run old shows over and over on weekends why not give us the ending for Cedar Cove??! The show has diversity of characters and real life situations. Yes we loved the actors as well. Bring back Cedar Cove!! What’s wrong with Hallmark!!?
My husband and I watched this show together. We’re disappointed it is canceled. It was one show we looked forward to watching together. Please reconsider and renew Cedar Cove.
I loved this show and am so disappointed with Hallmark. They don’t seem to have an issue showing old shows from the 90’s like Murder She Wrote over and over and over but can’t or won’t keep a show like Cedar Cove.
I think shows, if cancelled, should at least have endings. It is a waste of my time, and others, to watch for 3 seasons and be left hanging. I blame Hallmark for this. I think twice before watching any more Hallmark series.
Will miss this great series. Fell In love with great characters and plot. Now we want know what happens to their lives.
Come on Hallmark get your finger out and give your viewers what the want ! Season 4 of Cedar Cove
It seems there are many viewers willing to leave comments on the cancellation of Cedar Cove * I loved the series as do many people * hopefully all these heartfelt wishes will fall upon listening ears to bring back Cedar Cove
This show ended in September 2015 in the states. Why the renewed anger over it ending now? Is it just finishing up somewhere else in the world? We tried a year and a half ago to get some kind of final movie or something and it hasn’t worked in all this time. Maybe you will have better luck than we did in the states.
I think a lot of people just watched the series on Netflix and were totally caught off guard by the lack of a final season. If I had known that the 3rd season was not the ending season, and that the series had been canceled, I would not have started to watch it, myself.
